Assistant Sales Manager(Automotive Parts)

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Sales Leadership

  • Develop and execute annual sales plans to meet or exceed revenue and gross profit targets.
  • Analyse market trends (e.g., Original/OEM competition landscape, the rise of EV components) and competitor pricing to adjust sales tactics.
  • Identify and penetrate new market segments, such as independent repair networks or e-commerce platforms.

2. Team Management & Coaching

  • Recruit, train, and mentor a team of inside sales support executives
  • Set clear KPIs for the team, from purchase order processing to arrangement of goods delivery
  • Conduct regular field visits along with sales support team to provide on-the-job coaching and strengthen client ties.

3. Inventory & Operations Alignment

  • Work closely with the Parts Operation Team & Group Procurement to ensure "fast-movers" are always in stock while minimizing "dead stock."
  • Manage key supplier relationship to negotiate better bulk pricing and priority shipping.
  • Work with Technical Competence & Warranty Team to oversee the warranty claims and returns process to maintain high customer satisfaction and minimal financial loss.

4. Digital & CRM Integration

  • Work along with IT/Parts Operation Team to implement SAP S4 Hana for Parts Sales Team
  • Utilize CRM software (like Salesforce) to track customer lifecycles and pipeline health.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Technical Skills

  • Industry Expertise: Deep knowledge of automotive systems (internal combustion, hybrid, and electric vehicle components).
  • Data Literacy: Ability to analyse sales reports, inventory turnover ratios, and margin leaks.
  • Software Proficiency: SAP S4 Hana, Power Point and Advance Excel

Soft Skills

  • Negotiation: The ability to close high-volume contracts with Tier 1 suppliers or large fleet accounts.
  • Adaptability: Staying ahead of the curve as the industry shifts towards electrification
  • Problem Solving: Resolving customer feedback, supply chain disruptions or technical part-compatibility disputes quickly.

Education & Experience

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or Mechanical Engineering (preferred).
  • Experience: 5+ years in automotive parts sales, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory capacity. Experience working with public fleet operators a plus
