Assistant Security Manager
As Assistant Security Manager, you will support the Security Manager in ensuring the safety and security of guests, employees, and hotel assets. You will play a key role in maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment in line with luxury hospitality standards, while ensuring all security operations are conducted efficiently, discreetly, and professionally.
Key Responsibilities
Security Operations
- Assist in overseeing daily security operations across the hotel, including public areas, guest rooms, back-of-house, and staff areas.
- Ensure security procedures, patrols, access control, and surveillance systems are effectively implemented.
- Monitor CCTV systems and respond promptly to any suspicious activities or incidents.
- Support incident management, investigations, and preparation of detailed reports.
Guest & Employee Safety
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all guests, employees, and visitors.
- Respond to emergencies such as fire alarms, medical incidents, theft, or disturbances.
- Coordinate with local authorities and emergency services when required.
- Maintain a calm and professional presence during sensitive or high-pressure situations.
Team Supervision & Support
- Support the Security Manager in supervising and training security officers.
- Conduct briefings and ensure team members are aware of daily security priorities and risks.
- Assist in scheduling shifts and ensuring adequate manpower coverage.
- Promote discipline, professionalism, and adherence to hotel policies.
Risk Management & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with hotel security policies, safety regulations, and legal requirements.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and identify potential security vulnerabilities.
- Assist in fire safety inspections, emergency preparedness drills, and evacuation procedures.
- Maintain accurate logs, incident reports, and security documentation.
Loss Prevention
- Support efforts to minimize theft, fraud, and property loss.
- Monitor access control procedures for employees, contractors, and visitors.
- Assist in inventory checks and investigations involving missing items or discrepancies.
Coordination & Communication
- Liaise with Front Office, Engineering, Housekeeping, and other departments to ensure coordinated security coverage.
- Communicate effectively with management regarding incidents, risks, or operational concerns.
- Maintain professional relationships with external security vendors and authorities.
- Minimum Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Security Management, Criminal Justice, Hospitality, or related discipline.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in hotel security operations, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or assistant managerial role. Bali Hotels / Resorts experience is preferred.
- Valid Security Competency Certification (Gada Pratama / Gada Madya preferred) issued by a licensed Indonesian security training institution (or equivalent recognized certification).
- Understanding of Indonesian security regulations and coordination protocols with POLRI (Indonesian National Police) where applicable.
- Knowledge of K3 (Kesehatan dan Keselamatan Kerja / Occupational Health & Safety) principles and implementation in workplace environments.
- Familiarity with fire safety systems, emergency response procedures, evacuation protocols, and disaster preparedness standards in accordance with hotel safety requirements.
- Proven experience in handling incident reporting, investigation procedures, and documentation in a structured and legally compliant manner.
- Strong knowledge of access control systems, CCTV monitoring, key control procedures, and loss prevention practices in hospitality environments.
- Ability to ensure compliance with hotel security SOPs, brand standards, and applicable Indonesian laws and regulations.
- Experience in coordinating emergency responses including medical incidents, fire alarms, natural disasters, disturbances, and security threats.
- Ability to liaise effectively with external stakeholders including local authorities, fire department, ambulance services, and law enforcement agencies when required.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise, train, and discipline security officers in a professional and compliant manner.
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and ethical conduct in handling sensitive security matters.
- Physically fit, alert, and able to perform shift work including nights, weekends, and public holidays as operationally required.
- Strong communication skills in Bahasa Indonesia and basic English proficiency (written and spoken preferred in international hotel environments).
- Ability to remain calm and decisive under pressure while ensuring guest-centric service and safety.
