Assistant Senior Social Worker

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Casework

  • Conduct needs and risk assessment for complex/high risk cases.
  • Formulate, implement, and evaluate casework intervention plans.
  • Engage stakeholders for assessment and intervention
  • Conduct outreach and engage client’s family, where applicable, to develop action plans
  • Manage ethical dilemmas while taking into account range of information independently
  • Facilitate and leadlow/moderate risk case conferences in multi-disciplinary settings
  • Utilise and articulate theories and techniques and customise the use of tools and approaches for intended outcome

Group Work

  • Use appropriate approaches indifferent groups /settings
  • Conduct specialised groups for specific outcome
  • Assess and capitalize group dynamics to create positive impact
  • Manage and guide the management of challenging behaviours

Programme Development and Implementation

  • Develop specific programmes targeted at service gaps and service delivery issues with clear programme logic model/ theory of change.
  • Deliver programmes and conduct holistic outcome-based monitoring
  • Assess and use group dynamics to create positive impact
  • Manage and guide the management of challenging behaviours
  • Mobilise resources and engage in collaborative work with key stakeholders

Systems linkage, Analysis and Engagement

  • Identify and analyse service gaps and trends, make recommendations/proposals to enhance community and client access to needed resources
  • Engage and mobilise community resources/ key stakeholders to support the implementation of services.
  • Develop and implement systems development initiatives
  • Adopt appropriate strategies to negotiate and influence systemic changes together

Evaluation & Research

  • Identify gaps and trends in research and/or practice
  • Design research on practice and specified issues under guidance
  • Analyse academic literature for evidence-based approaches and practice

Leadership / Supervisory Skills

  • Assist management in motivating the staff team towards SHINE’s vision and mission
  • Assist in building the staff team towards fulfilling professional goals
  • Supervise/mentor/coach less experienced staff
  • Guide the delivery of social services by team to ensure adherence to Code of Ethics, Standards of Practice, governance and agenda at system level

Administrative and other duties

  • Perform administrative duties
  • Other duties/projects as assigned
