Assistant Server

Working alongside our Servers and culinary team, you will help create memorable moments for every guest by ensuring our dining spaces are beautifully presented, service flows effortlessly, and every interaction reflects our commitment to excellence. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in delivering exceptional service, and thrives as part of a collaborative team.

What You'll Be Doing

Support With Care

  • Support Servers in delivering attentive, professional, and personalized guest service.
  • Prepare dining areas before service, ensuring tables are properly set and presentation standards are maintained.
  • Clear, clean, and reset tables efficiently throughout service.
  • Assist with food and beverage delivery while ensuring accuracy and presentation standards.
  • Offer warm, helpful interactions when delivering items, answering guest questions about the menu, hotel amenities, or local attractions.
  • Monitor your section and service areas proactively to support both teammates and guests.

Operational Excellence

  • Greet guests upon arrival and assist with seating during peak service times.
  • Restock ice, glassware, garnishes, and bar supplies throughout the shift.
  • Polish glassware and keep bar drop zones organized and clear.
  • Keep service stations and back-of-house prep areas fully stocked, clean, and orderly.
  • Assist with opening and closing duties.
  • Maintain detailed knowledge of menus, daily features, allergens, and hotel offerings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the Food & Beverage operation.

What You Bring

  • Alberta ProServe certification required.
  • Previous hospitality or customer service experience
  • A natural sense of teamwork and a desire to learn about food, beverage, and service.
  • Calm, friendly, and composed demeanor—even in busy or loud environments.
  • Physical stamina and coordination to move efficiently in a fast-paced venue.

Bonus If You Bring

  • Interest in food, wine, or cocktails
  • Previous experience in a support role in restaurants or bars
  • Familiarity with the Banff area or local service culture
  • Ambition to grow into a server or bartender position

Physical Demands

  • Constant standing and walking in a busy restaurant environment
  • Frequent carrying of food, drinks, and supplies up to 11lbs / 5kg
  • Occasional lifting up to 22lbs / 10kg
  • Frequent bending, reaching, crouching, and stair use
  • Comfort working in crowded, fast-moving spaces

Visa Requirements: Must be legally authorized to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
