Assistant Shift Charge Engineer (Gas Plant Operations)
Job Description
- Responsible for daily efficient management and coordination of plant operations activities, according to established work procedures.
- Manage the optimal deployment of operational resources on shift to meet dispatch requirements.
- Issue work orders to the relevant Maintenance departments for rectification of all plant and equipment defects.
- Perform HV switching or isolation/ normalization in conjunction with PSO and authorized HV Electrical Maintenance Engineers for HV works.
- Responsible for reviewing MRSA for any maintenance work before issuing PTW based on LOTO SOP standards, including certifying for Hot Work, Confine Space and WAH.
- Responsible for the safe execution and inspection of Mechanical and Electrical Isolation/ Deisolation of equipment.
- Liaise with external agencies including PUB and steam customers on all operation matters during shift duty.
- Coordinate and implement quality control objectives, activities, or procedures to maximize process reliability.
- Supervise Technical Officers, Technician and Shift Team.
- Prepare daily, weekly and monthly production log/ records and regulatory compliance reports, when required.
- Maintain records or logbook entries of all key operational events/data.
- Regularly reviewing and keeping up to date with SOPs.
Qualifications
- Diploma in Engineering or equivalent.
- Preferred with Certification as a Work at Height Manager and Confine Space Worker.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Maximo EAM or equivalent software.
- Have a safety mindset and display a good workplace safety behaviour.
- Be a part of the CERT team and be actively involved in emergency responses whenever called upon.
- Relevant experience in power plant operations, or related industries, is advantageous.
- Willingness to work 12-hour rotating shifts.
