Assistant Shift Manager Security
Core Responsibilities:
- Leads, trains, and oversees Team Members on shift in the absence of the Security Shift Manager.
- Responsible for helping define team capabilities and ensuring the team is properly trained and able to use the tools to perform their jobs.
- Analyzes situations promptly and accurately; quickly adopts prompt, effective and reasonable courses of action with due regard to surrounding hazards and circumstances.
- Work with the company's leadership to define, launch, and drive critical strategic, organizational and operational recommendations. Develops strategic goals, including both short and long-term business objectives, as well as clear roles and responsibilities of Team Members.
- Manages the development and improvement of policies and procedures, implementing security industry best practices with respect to communications and crisis management.
- Responsible for assisting with the identification and coordination of maintenance and repair of security hardware and software.
- Acts as a liaison with external agencies and local law enforcement.
- Responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance within area of authority and reporting potential issues to leadership.
- Prepare documentation of legal and incident reports.
- Support the Security Shift Manager in conducting investigations.
- The Assistant Security Shift Manager may be required to successfully complete a TASER Certification Course; carry and maintain proficiency in the use of the equipment.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution in Security Management, Administration of Justice, Public Administration, or Organizational Leadership is preferred.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must have a government-issued ID.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a TAM/Alcohol Awareness Card.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Nevada Gaming Registration.
- Must be able to use a Fire Extinguisher.
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience within a Security Hospitality environment comparable in size to the organization is required.
- A minimum of two (2) years relevant supervisory experience in is required, experience with a Hospitality organization is preferred.
- Bilingual abilities are a plus.
- Must have experience with developing, implementing, and overseeing standard operating procedures used to guide daily activities.
- Must remain calm under stressful conditions, exercise reasonable judgment, and make sound decisions especially during emergency situations.
- Must have the ability to take over the operational function of a dispatch station during normal operations and times of crisis.
- Must have knowledge of standard radio broadcasting and dispatch procedures.
- Must have a working knowledge of basic criminal and civil law.
- Knowledge of the security industry and developed partnerships is preferred.
- Must have the ability to accurately type at a minimum speed of 35 words per minute.
- Must be able to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Must be able to work indoors, outdoors, and in smoking/gaming facilities.
- Regular and predictable attendance is expected and an essential function of this position.
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Must have the ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force to constantly move objects.
Employee must be able to use hands and feet in self-defense, use physical force to maintain or protect life, physically restrain individuals, break up separate individuals, subdue and/or take down individuals, run up and/or downstairs, and must be able to stand for entire work shift.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to focus.
Must have acceptable hearing levels to properly monitor radio transmissions.
Must be able to wear an earpiece without obstruction.
Hearing sufficient to hear conversational levels in person and over the telephone.
Speech sufficient to make oneself heard and understood in person, in front of groups, in meetings, and over the telephone.
Visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned, or to make general observations of facilities, guests, and team members.
Mobility sufficient to safely move in an office, gaming facility and outdoor environment.
Physically able to withstand the challenges of extensive walking, climbing, and descending numerous interior and external stairs, including multi-level building facilities.
Endurance sufficient to sit, walk and stand for extended periods, and maintain efficiency throughout the entire work shift and during extended work hours.
The team member may be required to successfully complete a TASER Certification Course; carry and maintain proficiency in the use of the equipment.
