Assistant Women's Soccer Coach

Essential Functions:

  • 55% Coaching: Support the coaching efforts during competitive soccer matches. Attend practices and workouts to assist with the training and preparation of student athletes for competition. Assist the Head Women’s Soccer Coach with on-field coaching, strength development, and game planning.
  • 20% Player Development: Assist the coaching staff in the personal and athletic development of student-athletes both on and off the field. Key duties would involve responsibility for all weight room, speed, and conditioning development, collaboration in design of a practice periodization model with use of GPS data, working with sports medicine in injury mitigation, rehabilitation, and return-to-play protocols, assisting with on-field coaching (assisting in the planning and execution of daily practice sessions and providing in-game strategic feedback), and analyzing data from wearable GPS related devices to monitor player workload and optimize training programs.
  • 10% Recruitment: Identifying and recruiting high-quality student-athletes who can compete at the NCAA Division I/MAC level and succeed.
  • 10% Program Administration: Assisting with team travel logistics, official and unofficial recruit visits, game day operations, and building relationships with alumni and donors.
  • 5% Compliance: Ensuring all program activities strictly adhere to NCAA, Mid-American Conference (MAC), and University standards.

Additional Position Information:

Education:
Requires a relevant Bachelor's Degree. Master's degree preferred.

Experience:
Requires a minimum of 1 year coaching and/or playing experience at the collegiate level. Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations required. Strong oral and written communication, experience with GPS tracking systems, velocity-based training technology, and data analysis software, understanding of the ability to use recruiting software/databases, analytical thinking, and ability to work in a high-performance environment.
