Assistant WSH Manager
Job Description
- Assist the WSH Manager in overseeing daily WSH operations and Environmental at the project site.
- Ensure compliance with the Workplace Safety and Health Act, MOM regulations, NEA Regulation and company safety procedures.
- Conduct regular site inspections and safety audits to identify unsafe acts and conditions.
- Monitor subcontractors’ work activities to ensure safe work practices are implemented.
- Organize and conduct toolbox meetings, safety briefings, and safety induction for workers and staff.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Prepare and maintain WSH records, reports, permits, inspection checklists, and statutory documentation.
- Coordinate with project managers, consultants, and authorities on all WSH matters.
- Ensure all lifting operations, work-at-height activities, and permit-to-work systems are properly implemented.
- Monitor environmental control measures including housekeeping, noise control, dust control, and vector prevention.
- Assist in emergency response planning and conduct emergency drills when required.
- Promote safety awareness and a positive safety culture among workers and subcontractors.
- Follow up on corrective actions and ensure timely closure of safety observations and non-conformance issues.
- Support ISO, CONQUAS, and internal safety audits where applicable.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the management or Project Manager.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Engineering, or related field.
- Registered WSH Officer with MOM Singapore is preferred.
- Registered ECO and ECMO with NEA and PUB is preferred
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in building or condominium construction projects.
- Familiar with HDB / Condo / Private Residential project safety requirements.
- Good knowledge of WSH legislation, risk assessment, and permit-to-work systems.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- Able to manage few project at the same time.
- Able to work independently and under pressure in a fast-paced construction environment.
