Associate, Aviation Finance (Job ID: 10074594)

Purpose of the role

  • Support promotion and expansion of Aviation Finance (“AF”) business to target and grow customers in the Asia Pacific (ex. Japan) region.

  • Support operational, research and auxillary matters of the AF team.

Job Responsibilities:

  • To support the AF team relating to origination and execution of deals and co-work closely with the respective MUFG branches and other Divisions.

  • To prepare and update internal reports in relation to AF transaction.

  • To prepare Borrower Rating and credit analysis for existing or prospective clients.

  • To source and share market information with GAFO on AF’s clients, investors, financing partners and other market participants.

  • To support AF team for origination and execution of deals and co-work closely with respective MUFG branches and other relative divisions to achieve team profit target as well as applicable KPIs.

  • Manage and develop relationships with existing and prospective AF’s clients as sector coverage with a view to originating mandates to lead debt issuance and arranging mandate with clients including but not limited to warehouse financings, portfolio financings, PDP financing, ABS-type transactions, JOLCO financing, and airline structured bonds (EETC private/public), as well as cross selling MUFG’s full product suite, such as global markets, trade and transaction banking, DCM and deposits.

  • To work and grow as a team.

  • Liaise with various departments and work together with GAFO as a global aviation team.

  • To ensure that the transactions' risk profile fit the Bank's requirements and provide analysis and assessment of transactional risks or other related aspects of the transactions and obtain necessary credit approvals.

  • To monitor and ensure credit compliance for executed transactions that has not been transferred to AF-PM.

  • To comply with relevant MAS regulations and MUFG group policies.

Job Requirements:

  • Proven experience in reviewing core transaction documents across multiple aircraft finance transactions

  • Proven experience performing financial statement analysis

  • Minimum 2 year of working experience, preferably within the front office banking industry or FIs

  • Aviation experience industry would be an additional advantage

  • Good knowledge of banking processes plus good communication, writing and interpersonal skills

  • Strong business acumen with good sense of deal closing

  • Self-motivated, good team player, customer focused, ability to work independently

  • Degree qualified
