Associate Designer, Baby

Secaucus, New Jersey

Job Summary:

The Associate Designer, Baby will be responsible for supporting the design process in an assigned focused product from conception to final prototype to include freehand and illustrator sketching, creating and maintaining seasonal assortment boards, coloring and detailing the line, and creating/updating point out sampling sheets. This position will embody the values and practices of The Children’s Place by having effective collaborative relationships and maintaining the unique look, integrity, and vision of the brand.


Responsibilities:

Key Accountabilities:

  • Execute designs under direction of a Designer with a focus on a particular area of line
  • Ensure that detail/sampling packages are accurate and complete; hand off to appropriate team members on time
  • Develop strong working relationship with design counterparts to ensure cohesive point of view
  • Communicate effectively with appropriate partners to ensure product execution according to design intent
  • Ownership of fittings under direction of a Designer
  • Ability to execute trend research and ownership over category reviews
  • Execute and maintain design related fields development tracker

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in design or related field
  • 0-3 years of experience in design or related field

Skills and Behaviors:

  • Proficient in Illustrator, Photoshop, and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to understand and take design direction
  • Strong organization and communication skills
  • Good prioritization skills and management of workload
  • Develop necessary critical thinking / problem solving skills
  • Must be a team player with the ability to interact with all levels of organization
  • Strong listening skills

Hourly/Salary

$50,000.00 - $125,000.00 Salary
