Description of the Position
The Associate, Development Operations will play a pivotal role in supporting the implementation of SickKids Foundation’s philanthropic initiatives and working with the Foundation teams to achieve transformational growth throughout the historic, comprehensive fundraising Campaign for SickKids. Reporting to the Director, Campaign, the Associate will proactively provide support for the executive administrative needs of the Vice-Presidents of Philanthropy; Corporate and Community Partnerships; and Campaign. In addition, they will also be responsible for driving strategic initiatives that will enhance Development Unit-wide processes.
You will:
- Provide executive multi-faceted meeting support (external and internal) to the Vice Presidents, including research, preparing briefings, agendas, presentations, minutes, speaking remarks, confidential communications, and managing event/meeting logistics
- Manage executive calendars, anticipating scheduling conflicts and adapting to changes with minimal disruption
- Provide project management support to various Development-wide initiatives including the annual education plan, Power Hours, Development Events calendar, SharePoint migration, etc.
- Manage requests and interactions with Research/BIIT, Stewardship and Donor Relations, Donor Experience, Legal, and Strategic Communications to ensure projects, deliverables, and timelines are upheld for Vice Presidents’ donor activities
- Research and develop briefing notes Vice Presidents, engaging with internal and external stakeholders
- Monitor Vice Presidents’ activities, provide updates on meetings, call activity, new proposals, confirmed gifts, etc.
- Create the Development Unit’s onboarding and offboarding program and professional development calendar
- Support development of Development Board pre-reads for SickKids Foundation Board meetings and Development Committee
- Prepare reports and insights for VPs using the CRM, including pulling basic reports to support their requests
Qualifications
While we know that for any job posting no one candidate will possess the qualifications being sought in equal measure, below is an outline of the qualifications we believe are important for a candidate to bring to the position or for the successful candidate to develop while in the role:
- Proactive problem solver and solution oriented
- 3+ years' experience in fundraising, project management, or executive administrative support
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Team player and relationship builder
- Exceptional organizational skills and ability to coordinate multiple projects under tight timelines
- Strong research and information-gathering skills, with the ability to independently source, analyze, and synthesize data to create comprehensive briefing packages for senior leadership, volunteers, and external stakeholders
- Proactive problem solver and solution oriented
- Proficiency with Blackbaud or donor database management systems will be considered a strong asset
- Advanced skills within Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Total Compensation Package
Expected Hiring Salary Range:$ 70,056.00 – $ 82,418 00; with the ability to progress to a maximum of $ 98,902.00. To ensure fair and equitable pay at SickKids Foundation, placement on the salary range will be based on your years of experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the Associate, Development Operations.

Position Status: Permanent Full-Time;
Hours: Hybrid work model: minimum two days per week in-office (Tuesday and Wednesday).
