The Opportunity

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is seeking a collaborative and strategic Associate Director, Europe Training & Advising to join our Worldwide Student Success team. This leadership role is responsible for advancing training excellence, operational effectiveness, and staff development across the Europe region. The Associate Director will lead onboarding and professional development initiatives, oversee regional advising operations, foster cross-functional collaboration, and ensure consistent delivery of exceptional student support services. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development, delivery, and continuous improvement of onboarding, training, and professional development programs for Europe Training & Advising staff.

  • Design and maintain Canvas training courses, instructional materials, and procedural documentation to support consistent, high-quality service delivery.

  • Coach, mentor, and develop staff while fostering a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, and operational excellence.

  • Evaluate training effectiveness through performance metrics, feedback, and data-driven assessments to enhance learning outcomes.

  • Build and maintain collaborative partnerships with advising, financial aid, academic departments, military education partners, and other university stakeholders.

  • Review discretionary funding requests and serve as a voting member of the Student Success Scholarship Committee.

  • Serve as the primary liaison between the Europe and PACOM Training & Advising teams, ensuring alignment of initiatives, communication, and operational practices.

  • Provide guidance on complex advising, financial aid, and operational matters while ensuring compliance with university policies and procedures.

  • Collaborate with leadership to streamline operational processes, improve student support services, and enhance the overall student experience.

  • Support regional campus operations, graduation planning, staff development initiatives, and other strategic projects as assigned.

The selected candidate will be expected to work hours that align with Central European Time (CET).

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Leadership, Education, Counseling, or a closely related field.

  • Three to five years of professional experience in student support, academic advising, training, or a related higher education environment.

  • Experience designing and facilitating training programs, onboarding initiatives, and professional development activities.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives, manage multiple priorities, and build collaborative relationships with diverse stakeholders.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and other technology platforms.

  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Ability to travel occasionally for graduations, staff development, and university meetings.

Preferred:

  • Experience working in higher education, particularly within student success or academic advising.

  • Familiarity with Embry-Riddle policies, procedures, and student support operations.

  • Experience supporting military-affiliated students and knowledge of military tuition assistance programs.

  • Experience developing online learning content using Canvas or other learning management systems.
