Associate Director - Hindi Copywriter, Sports

The Hindi Copywriter for Sports will be responsible for crafting compelling, fan-first Hindi copy across on-air promotions, digital platforms, and marketing campaigns. The role requires a strong understanding of sports (especially cricket), audience behaviour, and the ability to translate match moments and narratives into engaging, culturally relevant Hindi content.

What you'll do:

  • Create engaging Hindi copy for campaigns, digital content, ads, social media, and various sports initiatives

  • Develop long‑form sports content including articles, features, player stories, and editorial pieces in Hindi

  • Write creative taglines, punchlines, and campaign messaging tailored specifically for Hindi-speaking audiences

  • Script and storyboard content for videos, teasers, promos, and other sports-related audiovisual projects

  • Produce timely, relevant content around live sports events, tournaments, athlete updates, and major sporting moments

  • Simplify complex sporting action into emotionally compelling, easy-to-understand Hindi narratives for diverse audiences

  • Stay updated with national and international sports trends, especially cricket, kabaddi, football, and Olympic sports, to ensure content relevance

  • Collaborate with designers, marketers, social media teams, and video teams to deliver cohesive and impactful storytelling

  • Maintain consistency in brand voice, linguistic accuracy, and cultural sensitivity across all Hindi content

  • Edit, proofread, and ensure fast turnaround, especially during live matches and real-time content requirements

  • Engagement and performance of promos

  • Consistent adherence to tight timelines, especially during live events and tournaments

  • Strong understanding of sports storytelling, especially cricket and marquee tournaments (IPL, ICC events, etc.)

  • Ability to simplify complex ideas into punchy, high-impact copy. Strong creative instincts with attention to detail

  • Basic understanding of digital and social media content formats is a plus.

  • Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication, Journalism, Literature, or a related field

  • 8+ years of experience in copywriting/content writing, preferably in sports, media, broadcast, or digital agencies

  • Portfolio showcasing Hindi writing across formats is mandatory
