The Associate Director of Accounting supports the VP, Corporate Controller in overseeing the organization’s accounting operations, financial reporting, and compliance activities. This role ensures accurate financial data, strong internal controls, and adherence to regulatory standards while leading day-to-day accounting functions and driving process improvements.

COMPENSATION: $165,000 - $180,000/Year DOE, 25% Bonus Eligible

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Builds strong, collaborative relationships across teams by communicating effectively and contributing to a positive, team-oriented work environment
  • Leads with a development-focused mindset by coaching and mentoring team members, identifying growth opportunities, and actively supporting individual performance
  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements
  • Analyze financial results and provide insights to leadership for decision-making
  • Manage general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and reconciliations
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial records and reporting systems
  • Maintain and optimize accounting processes, policies, and procedures
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and accounting standards
  • Develop and monitor internal controls
  • Support and coordinate internal and external audit activities
  • Lead, mentor, and develop accounting team members
  • Oversee daily operations of the accounting function and assign work priorities
  • Drive automation, system enhancements, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensure effective use of ERP and financial systems
  • Identify opportunities to increase efficiency and strengthen financial processes
  • Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to provide financial guidance
  • Translate financial data into actionable insights for non-finance stakeholders
  • Support strategic projects, including growth initiatives and investments

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
    • CPA required or preferred
    • 7–10+ years of progressive accounting experience
    • Leadership experience required
