Associate Director, Speaker Programs

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Associate Director, Speaker Programs based in the United States.

This role sits at the center of enterprise healthcare professional education, owning the strategy, governance, and execution of large-scale peer-to-peer speaker programs across multiple therapeutic areas and business units. You will be responsible for building the operational backbone that enables compliant, scalable, and high-impact physician education initiatives. The position requires a strong blend of strategic thinking and hands-on operational leadership, ensuring that speaker programs are both field-effective and fully compliant with healthcare regulations. You will partner closely with Marketing, Medical Affairs, Sales, Compliance, Legal, and Finance to deliver best-in-class educational experiences for healthcare professionals. A key part of your work will be designing systems, processes, and governance frameworks that standardize execution while supporting business unit flexibility. This is a highly cross-functional and visible role where operational excellence directly impacts commercial and educational success. You will also serve as a key advisor to senior stakeholders on speaker engagement strategy, performance, and optimization.

Accountabilities:

  • Lead the strategy, governance, and continuous improvement of enterprise-wide peer-to-peer HCP education and speaker programs across multiple business units and disease areas.
  • Design and maintain scalable operating models, SOPs, policies, and training materials to ensure consistent and compliant program execution.
  • Oversee the full speaker lifecycle including identification, vetting, onboarding, contracting, training, certification, utilization, and performance management.
  • Partner with Compliance, Legal, and Finance teams to ensure adherence to FMV standards, contracting requirements, audit readiness, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Manage program operations including event execution, scheduling, reimbursement workflows, and end-to-end process optimization.
  • Build strong relationships with physician speakers and internal stakeholders to ensure high-quality engagement and program adoption.
  • Develop dashboards, KPIs, and reporting frameworks to measure program performance, utilization, and operational efficiency, providing insights to leadership.
  • Requirements:

    • 7+ years of experience in speaker bureau management, medical education, HCP engagement, commercial operations, or related roles within biotech, pharma, diagnostics, or medical device industries.
    • Proven experience managing large-scale healthcare professional speaker programs and peer-to-peer education initiatives.
    • Strong understanding of healthcare compliance frameworks, including FMV, contracting processes, and regulatory requirements.
    • Demonstrated ability to build scalable operational processes, SOPs, governance models, and program infrastructure from the ground up or through transformation.
    • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously.
    • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with experience engaging physician thought leaders and cross-functional executives.
    • Strong analytical mindset with experience defining KPIs, building dashboards, and delivering executive-level reporting.
    • Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM and program management tools is a strong plus.
