Your Job

The Associate Footwear Merchandiser supports the global footwear merchandising team in delivering runner-ready assortments that drive revenue and margin. This role partners closely with senior merchandising, product line management, sales, Merch Financial Planning, , marketing, and color to help bring footwear assortments to life across channels and markets

You will assist with merchandising activities across the season while developing a strong understanding of the footwear merchandising process, market dynamics, and runner needs. This role is ideal for someone early in their merchandising career who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow within a collaborative product team.

Your Responsibilities:

Merchandising:

  • Support the global footwear merchandising team in the development and execution of seasonal assortments
  • Assist with merchandising the footwear line to support regional business, customer, and consumer needs
  • Assist in organizing and consolidating feedback from product pre-lines with key accounts and regions
  • Support the creation and updating of product pre-line presentations
  • Learn how to assess seasonal market readiness
  • Learn how to validate article counts, price points, widths, and color flow
  • Learn key FTW processes and calendars (I2R)
  • Learns the MRA (merchandising runner assortments) structure, process, and how to collaborate with key stakeholders to create effective and creative solutions to maximize business opportunities.
  • Competitive Analysis:

  • Help gather market, channel, customer, and runner insights and share observations with the footwear team
  • Support bi-annual competitive reviews of Brooks products versus competitors across fit, feel, ride, support, and price/value
  • Assist with analysis of brand performance, product trends, and competitiveness
  • Cross-Functional and Team Collaboration:

  • Gain knowledge in how to collaborate cross-functionally including collaboration with the color teams to create seasonal assortments and with product triads to share market readiness
  • Partner with senior merchandisers and color teams by sharing runner and market insights to support seasonal color decisions
  • Gain knowledge in how to collaborate cross-functionally including collaboration with the color teams to create seasonal assortments and with product triads to share market readiness
  • Seek guidance, feedback and mentorship from Senior staff
  • Project and Product Administration:

  • Support seasonal data entry and accuracy in Flex PLM, including colorways, prices, and intro dates
  • Assist with sample management by receiving, organizing, and tracking footwear samples throughout the season
  • Support FW Merchandisers on seasonal projects and shadow more experienced merchandisers on advanced projects.
  • Deliver assigned deliverables on time
  • Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Merchandising, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and/or experience)
  • 1+ years of experience in footwear, apparel, or retail merchandising, product, sales, or related field
  • Strong interest in footwear, product merchandising, and the running industry
  • Ability to analyze information, summarize and draw insights and
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and across functions
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Curiosity, eagerness to learn, and a collaborative mindset
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint); PLM experience a plus
  • Use AI-enabled tools (e.g., reporting, forecasting, or assortment analysis tools) to support data gathering, identify trends, and improve efficiency in merchandising workflows.
  • Compensation: The pay range for this position, based out of the Brooks Seattle HQ, is $29.38 - $44.10 per hour. Base pay offered will vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
