Swaniti Initiative is an ecosystem builder working toward a sustainable future in a climate constrained world. It has a strong legacy of working of supporting Parliamentarians and sub\-national governments on designing and delivering interventions that respond to the climate crisis. Recently, Swaniti has been increasingly engaging with the private sector in textile, cement and steel in order to decarbonize industries. <\/span><\/span>We have conducted in depth mapping at a sub national level to understand the drivers toward large scale transition.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>Whether it is crystallizing the financial case for energy transition or unlocking climate finance for MSMEs in hard to abate industries, Swaniti has been working with industry associations to overcome them. Through our work we have come to believe that while there is significant interest amongst industry and government to decarbonize, there aren\u2019t clear pathways and support mechanisms to enable this shift quickly. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>

We are looking for an experienced professional who is\nkeen on taking up the role in a project focused on green skilling. The\nprofessional will be expected to further Swaniti\u2019s vision on understanding the\ngaps and opportunities on green skilling and then work with state governments\non operationalizing them. The current areas of \u201cgreen skilling\u201d include solar,\nhydro, geothermal, wind and domestic waste management. Given the\ntechnical requirements of the space, the following qualities would be favourably\nlooked upon for the candidate.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>
<\/span><\/span><\/p>

  • The candidate must have demonstrated experience in the\nskills sector. This can include conducting skill assessments, working with\nskilling departments, and managing skilling work.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>
    <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>
  • Past\nexperiences of working on sustainability and climate would be favourably looked\nupon, including on state and central government initiative. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>
    <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>
  • Demonstrated experience of working with\nstate/central government would be advantageous<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>
    <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>
  • A strong\nunderstanding of the skilling ecosystem would support the candidacy.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>

  • Strong\nefficiency in conducting on\-field surveys, FGDs s and household interviews<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>

    Roles & Responsibilities:<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>

    As mentioned above, Swaniti\nhas been working to identify economic opportunities for last mile communities\nduring energy transition. And thus, skilling has been key to our work. We are\nlooking for Associates who can support in a.) ground level analysis through\nprimary data and research, b.) assistance to state governments on policy\nplanning and program identification and c.) requisite monitoring and program\nimplementation support on ground. Therefore, the Associate will be working as\npart of a larger team to be able to \-<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>
    <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div>
    • Develop\nhigh\-quality research documents, along with need assessment, situation\nanalysis, data analysis, brainstorming with relevant stakeholders.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>
      <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>
    • Coordinate, manage, and draft a comprehensive\nresearch paper on community readiness for green skilling.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>
      <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>
    • The\nAssociate will be expected to come up with critical research inputs and support\nin policy formulation document.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>
      <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>
    • Work\nwith the state administration to operationalize the feedback that is being\ncollected within communities.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>
      <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>
    • Organize and execute events,\nseminars, and roundtable discussions, etc., that are needed for the green\-skilling\nprocess.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>
      <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>
    • Provide any additional support to\nbuild out capabilities around green skilling.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>

    • Conduct on field surveys and analyse\nlarge\-scale data sets.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>

      Requirements<\/h3>

      Qualifications:<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>
      <\/span><\/p>

      • The candidate should be well versed in Telugu<\/b><\/span>
        <\/li>
      • Candidates\nmust have at least 3 years of experience working in skilling, energy and\nlivelihoods.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>
        <\/li>
      • Experience in Branding and Marketing will be preferred.<\/span><\/span>
        <\/li>
      • Prior\nexperience in handling large\-scale government data sets and working with state\ndepartments<\/span><\/span><\/span>
        <\/span><\/span><\/li>
      • A post\-graduate\ndegree in any field with a preference for those possessing a degree in\nenvironment, climate and sustainability, energy, skilling related field, etc.,\nis strongly preferred.<\/span><\/span><\/span>

      • Prior\nexperience working with government and grassroots organizations in the space of\nskilling and livelihoods<\/span><\/span><\/span>
