Associate Implementation Consultant - CDM

Location - Cape Town (Hybrid)
Why Confluence?

At Confluence, we’ve always been driven by a commitment to innovation, precision, and partnership in the investment data space. Our global footprint now spans multiple countries, giving our employees the opportunity to get exposure to other countries and cultures. And it stands to reason that none of this would have been possible without the hundreds of hard-working employees who work at Confluence.
We are looking for an Associate Implementation Consultant to join our Professional Services team, working on our Data Management platform. This role is focused on delivering technical solutions for existing clients, combining data engineering, reporting, and troubleshooting work.

You will be involved in a mix of support and new requirements, investigating data issues, building enhancements, and delivering changes across a range of client environments. The work is hands-on and technical, with a strong focus on SQL, ETL processes, and data warehousing.

You will gain exposure to the full lifecycle of delivery, from understanding requirements and designing solutions through to build, testing and deployment. Initially, you will take ownership of reporting tasks before expanding into broader data and implementation work as your experience grows.

Why apply

This role offers the opportunity to build practical, in-demand technical skills in a real-world environment, rather than working in a narrow or siloed position. You will work across a variety of client challenges and gain exposure to the full data workflow, allowing you to develop both depth and breadth in your skillset. The team provides structured support and training, helping you progress from reporting into core data engineering work. Over time, the role also gives exposure to evolving data platforms and emerging technology, creating a strong foundation for longer-term career growth.

Essential requirements

  • Hands-on experience with SQL, including writing queries and working with data structures
  • Experience working with ETL processes and or data warehousing concepts
  • At least 2 years’ experience in a technical role within data, BI or a similar area
  • Experience working with real datasets and solving practical data problems
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and deliver solutions
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to translate requirements into technical outputs
  • Comfortable working in a collaborative, technical team environment

Desirable requirements

  • Experience with SSRS or similar reporting tools
  • Exposure to C# or working with code within ETL processes
  • Background in financial services or a data-heavy industry
  • Experience in a consulting or client-focused role
  • Degree in Computer Science or a related field
