Associate Manager, Investigations, Diligence and Compliance - Core

The Associate Manager role within Kroll’s Investigation, Diligence and Compliance practice is a position that incorporates a diverse range of responsibilities including but not limited to account and client management activity, end-to-end project execution, training and development functions, and oversight of our most complex research assignments. The position also requires mentorship of more junior researchers and conducting quality reviews on reports to ensure that the products produced by our global teams are accurate, complete and meet our clients’ needs, including the provision of detailed and actionable feedback.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Leadership of our most complex engagements, conducting in-depth research using extensive public domain information, media and internet sources, and analyzing human intelligence, where applicable, as well as overseeing the lifecycle of reports from client request to the delivery of high quality and objective findings.

  • Support Kroll’s senior practitioners and client managers globally by contributing to the development, management, and expansion of commercial relationships.

  • Build strong working relationships with colleagues across Kroll’s network of offices and regions.

  • Provide training, guidance, oversight, and review of junior research staff and client deliverables, ensuring quality, accuracy, and timely completion of assigned tasks.

  • Contribution to new business opportunities–including scoping assignments and writing client proposals–and responding to client needs in a timely and satisfactory way.

  • Effective analysis of information from a large and diverse volume of sources into clear and comprehensive assessments.

  • Ability to effectively participate in and / or lead calls with internal and external stakeholders, including the ability to serve as a client contact or deliver report findings verbally or through written communication.

  • Demonstrated ability to maintain organized, well‑structured, and QC ready files, ensuring consistent documentation standards and provision of actionable and effective feedback to relevant team members.

  • Effective management of resources including subcontractors, ensuring protocols are followed and costs are monitored and accounted for accurately.

Essential Traits:

  • Strong attention to detail and English-language writing and verbal communication skills are required.

  • 3-5 years of experience (including relevant internships) of researching and writing due diligence or investigative reports in English, preferably with a recognized professional services or other investigative firm.

  • Professional knowledge of economic or political, or related fields is preferred.

  • Proven experience working with diverse and global teams using a flexible and collaborative approach.

  • 1-3 years of experience managing or supporting client relationships is preferred, particularly in areas relevant to financial crimes, geopolitical analysis, and third-party risk management.

  • Experience training or mentoring junior researchers with a demonstrated ability to deliver constructive feedback.

  • Undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited university majoring in: International Relations/Affairs, Regional Studies, Political Science, Criminal Justice, Law or other related areas of study required.

  • A regional expertise and advanced capability or fluency in reading comprehension in applicable local language (s) is preferred (e.g. Russian, Chinese, Spanish, Arabic)

  • Availability to work a full-time schedule with the understanding that additional hours and weekend work may be required.
