Area of Responsibility

Responsibility Description

Technical Support and Knowledge Building

  • Provide hands-on technical support to employees within the assigned area of responsibility.
  • Share responsibility for the technical growth and development of team members.
  • Collaborate in the design, development, and delivery of training programs and materials, ensuring effective implementation as needed.

Employee Management and Professional Qualification

  • Support, encourage, and motivate employees to achieve team and organizational goals, providing technical guidance as needed.
  • Foster a culture of problem-solving through clear and constructive communication within your area of responsibility.
  • Safeguard company interests by promptly escalating instances of employee misconduct to appropriate leadership.
  • Ensure efficient organization and execution of processes within your area of responsibility.
  • Contribute to the successful onboarding and integration of new employees by sharing your technical expertise.

Communication

  • Assist the responsible supervisor in conducting annual performance reviews with direct reports, using them as a key tool for feedback and development.
  • Maintain frequent and effective communication with European technical counterparts relevant to your area of responsibility.
  • Collaborate with support teams, the EU Technical Team, and production to proactively manage capacity fluctuations and minimize downtime through timely coordination.

Reporting

  • Ensure that all information subject to reporting requirements is accurately and promptly communicated to the appropriate parties.

Implementation of the Corporate Strategy

  • Collaborate with your Area Manager and team in developing the annual Hoshin Kanri plan and the five-year strategic road map for your area, taking into account relevant operational and organizational conditions.

Production and Assembly control

  • Coordinate with Quality Assurance to support decisions related to product quality requirements.
  • Participate in post-production debriefings, contributing your technical expertise to drive improvements.
  • Serve as a key liaison with internal suppliers, service providers, and customers to ensure seamless operations.

Active participation in Continuous Improvement Process (CIP)

  • Continuously identify opportunities to enhance effectiveness and efficiency within your area of responsibility.
  • Foster a constructive error culture by openly addressing mistakes, learning from them, and eliminating root causes. Seek support from your supervisor when necessary.

Travel and Training

  • Willingness to travel to Europe occasionally for training on new equipment, role-specific responsibilities, or other company-related initiatives.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a valid passport for international travel.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Preferred degrees include Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, and Industrial Engineering.
  • 1-3 years related manufacturing experience preferred.

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, CAD and other related software applications.

  • Ability to read blueprints and/or drawings.

  • Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work safely.
  • Accuracy and integrity of work.
  • Reliable attendance; flexibility with shift hours and times.
  • Timely completion of assigned tasks.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes, coolant, or airborne particles and will work near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud; hearing protection is provided and required while on the plant floor.

  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to perform regular walking, standing, bending, reaching, grasping, crouching, stooping, or kneeling.
  • Use of hands and arms to grasp, handle, reach, and balance.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
