The Associate for Policy Engagements will support the Policy Team with strategic outreach to Hon'ble Members of Parliament (MPs), provide evidence\-based research, sectoral insights, and legislative support using data\-driven methodologies. The role will focus on aiding MPs through research, policy briefs, stakeholder conventions, and facilitating knowledge exchange on critical policy issues, including climate change and allied fields.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>

Research & Legislative Support:<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>

  • Conduct evidence\-based research on policy issues, government schemes, and sectoral challenges for Hon'ble MPs, with particular focus on environment, social protection, and governance. Utilize primary and secondary data sources, field research, and stakeholder consultations where appropriate. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>
    <\/span><\/span><\/p><\/li>

  • Developed high\-quality expert briefings, policy insights, and legislative support documents based on MPs\u2019 specific requests, ensuring all materials were factual within tight deadlines.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>
    <\/span><\/span><\/p><\/li>

  • Provide background research and analytical support for parliamentary interventions, bills, standing committee meetings, and parliamentary debates, including identifying key policy gaps and opportunities.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>
    <\/span><\/span><\/p><\/li>

  • Identify critical policy gaps through data analysis and research and propose evidence\-based interventions at constituency and national levels, aligning with Swaniti's constituency development approach and flagship programs.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>

    • Constant outreach to Parliamentarians in India and abroad.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>

    • Engage with diverse stakeholders, including government bodies, think tanks, civil society organizations, corporate CSR wings, and grassroots organizations, to gather insights, facilitate knowledge exchange, and support evidence\-based policy making. This includes conducting stakeholder consultations, primary outreach, and research.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>

    • Support the organization of policy workshops, stakeholder consultations, and knowledge exchange events on critical policy issues, ensuring high\-quality facilitation and documentation of outcomes.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>

      • Prepare high\-quality reports, policy briefs, and knowledge products on relevant policy issues, ensuring all materials are well\-researched, factually accurate, and presented in accessible formats for diverse audiences.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>

      • Document policy recommendations, administrative reports, impact assessments, and success stories for wider dissemination, contributing to organizational learning and knowledge management.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>

        • Demonstrated understanding of India\u2019s climate and energy policy landscape, including national and sub\-national frameworks related to energy transition, decarbonization, e\-mobility, air quality, and sustainable development.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>
          <\/span><\/span><\/p><\/li>

        • Familiarity with key regulatory instruments, government schemes, and institutional mechanisms shaping the energy transition ecosystem, including transport electrification, renewable energy adoption, industrial decarbonization, and climate finance.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>
          <\/span><\/span><\/p><\/li>

        • Ability to synthesize technical and sectoral knowledge into clear, policy\-relevant insights tailored for legislative and governance stakeholders.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>

        • Experience engaging with multi\-stakeholder ecosystems, including government departments, industry bodies, think tanks, and civil society organizations working on climate and energy\-related issues.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>

        • Strong analytical skills to interpret sectoral data, policy documents, and regulatory developments, and translate them into actionable recommendations for policy engagement.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>

        • Understanding of the intersection of climate change with economic development, public health, social equity, and industrial policy.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>

          Requirements<\/h3>

          • Postgraduate degree in Environmental Science, Energy Studies, Climate Change, Economics, Public Policy, Political Science, Law, Development Studies, Sustainability, or a related field.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>

            Experience:<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>
            <\/span><\/p>

            • Up to 2 years of full\-time, post\-graduate professional experience in public policy, governance, research, or related domains.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>
              <\/span><\/p><\/li>

            • Exposure to e\-mobility and the energy transition is highly desirable.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>
              <\/span><\/p><\/li>

            • Preference to candidates with prior experience working with government officials or elected representatives.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>
