Associate/Senior Associate, Research

Lalamove is seeking a strategic Research candidate to join our BI and Research team. This role supports the Research & Strategy function by conducting market analysis, customer experience investigation, on ground field research and industry trend tracking to inform business decisions. The position is execution-heavy and works closely with senior researchers, strategy, and leadership teams to deliver structured insights.

Key Responsibilities

1. Voice of User Research
  • Regularly review user feedback to trace service-delivery flaws.
  • Document and audit the end-to-end experience of users (customers, merchants, or drivers) to identify systemic friction points.
  • Translate raw, localized customer feedback and metrics into clear, structured insight reports for product and operations teams.

  • 2. On-Ground Field Research Support
  • Support research manager in launching and executing field research, including quantitative and qualitative research, particularly in delivering raw field journals, photo/video documentation and structured summaries immediately following field deployments.
  • Act as the "eyes and ears" of the strategy team by capturing on-the-ground operation via site visits, interviews, video-taking and other data collection tools
  • Shadow couriers, drivers and users during real-world execution to identify frictions, opportunities and gap in usability and service offering

    arket Analysis & Competitive Understanding
  • Gather localized field and digital data to assess threats, gaps and potential whitespace opportunities
  • Cross-reference internal operational metrics against voices of users to diagnose business performance to uncover internal growth patterns or vulnerabilities
  • Maintain and update intelligence in user and market sentiments to keep team updated on local policies, competitor product features, pricing, promotional mechanics, service expansions and partnerships

  • Execution-First Mindset: Highly organized, proactive, and comfortable with a heavy "doing" component
  • Structured Thinking: Ability to take unstructured data and organize it cleanly into structured updates for internal leadership
  • Collaborative Spirit: Good communication skill and collaborative mindset to act as a bridge to frequently liaise across diverse internal teams
  • Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in any field
  • Ideally 2–4 years of experience in consulting, research, business analysis, strategy, market intelligence, or related roles; fresh graduate may be considered for the role of associate
  • Solid analytical thinking with attention to detail; strong desk research, field interview and data synthesis skills
  • Clear written communication and ability to summarize insights
  • Comfortable working with ambiguity and learning new industries quickly
  • Interest in logistics, transportation, tech platforms, or marketplace businesses
