Job Summary
The Test Automation Engineer on the Engineering Excellence team designs, builds and maintains scalable automated test frameworks and CI/CD-integrated test suites to improve product quality, accelerate delivery, and reduce manual testing effort. Work closely with application or program teams to onboard them to the framework and approach, ensuring consistent adoption and alignment with best practices.
You will collaborate with engineering, QA, and platform teams to identify automation opportunities, define test strategies (unit, integration, end-to-end, performance, and smoke), and ensure testability across services and pipelines.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent with 5+ years hands on professional experience in testing and automation
- Experience on one test automation tool among Playwright, TestNG, RestAssured
- Experience on one performance testing tool among JMeter, Gatling, Loadrunner
- Experience on driving automation fast with AI tools
- Experience with SDLC including unit tests, code management and build tools (Maven, Gradle, SBT), code management tools (GIT, Github) and deployment tools (Jenkins, Github actions)
- Knowledge of Unix, SQL, Java/Python, JavaScript, HTML, JSON and source control Git desired
- Performance testing experience using tools like JMeter, Gatling, Loadrunner
Experience with both SQL is a must and NoSQL databases is a plus - Ability to lead and own frameworks, working across teams on standardization of processes and employ creative methods to solve problems
Key Responsibilities:
- Framework Development & Ownership: Design, build, and maintain scalable, robust automated test frameworks (using tools like Playwright, TestNG, or RestAssured) and take ownership of standardizing testing processes across teams.
- Test Strategy & Execution: Define and implement comprehensive test strategies encompassing unit, integration, end-to-end, smoke, and performance testing to ensure complete test coverage and product quality.
- CI/CD Integration: Integrate automated test suites seamlessly into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and build tools (Maven, Gradle, SBT) to accelerate software delivery and reduce manual testing efforts.
- Cross-Team Collaboration & Onboarding: Partner closely with engineering, QA, and platform teams to identify automation opportunities, ensure service testability, and successfully onboard application teams to testing frameworks and best practices.
- Performance Testing: Design, develop, and execute performance and load testing strategies using tools such as JMeter, Gatling, or LoadRunner to ensure system scalability and reliability.
- AI-Driven Automation: Leverage AI tools and modern technologies to accelerate automation development, optimize testing workflows, and creatively solve complex engineering problems.
- Backend & Environment Verification: Perform database validations using SQL (and NoSQL) and navigate Unix environments to ensure backend stability and accurate data processing.
- Code Quality & Version Control: Maintain clean, efficient test code using Java/Python, JavaScript, and JSON, while managing source code repositories via Git and GitHub.
