Associate Technical Director - Electrical

The Associate Technical Director for Building Services will lead and oversee all technical aspects of building services design, ensuring compliance with industry standards and delivering innovative, sustainable, and efficient solutions. This role requires strategic thinking, technical expertise, and leadership to manage complex projects and guide multidisciplinary teams.

  • Strategic Leadership: Define and implement technical strategies for building services aligned with organizational goals.
  • Project Oversight: Manage end-to-end technical delivery of building services projects, ensuring quality, timelines, and budget adherence.
  • Innovation & Sustainability: Drive adoption of cutting-edge technologies and sustainable practices in building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire safety, etc.).
  • Compliance & Standards: Ensure all designs and installations meet regulatory codes, safety standards, and environmental guidelines.
  • Team Development: Mentor and lead technical teams, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with architects, contractors, and clients to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate technical risks throughout project lifecycles.
  • Required Skills & Competencies
  • Strong expertise in building services engineering (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection).
  • Proven project team and Project management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Knowledge of sustainability standards and best practices.
  • Proficiency in Electrical design softwares (Dialux, Dialxu EVO, Amtech, Hevacomp) and project management tools.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • The applicant should have adequate knowledge on the Data Centre projects, knowledge in Power system, redundancy design and system integration, experience in Tier systems, Critical IT Infrastructure knowledge,

    Desired Skills

  • Excellent working knowledge of BS, HTM, NBC, NFPA and other local codes and good working knowledge of UK codes would be advantageous.

    Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in building services, with at least 5 years in a leading major project delivery.
  • Chartered Engineering Status with the UK Engineering Council.
