About the Position: This position is with the Defense Health Agency at the Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center in Fort Cavazos, Texas This is a Direct Hire Solicitation This is an open continuous announcement. Use auditory brainstem testing to assist in locating the site of lesion within the auditory system.

Make determinations of physical profile status and fitness for duty in various military occupations.

Manage the Universal Newborn Hearing Screening Program which includes monitoring, collection of recorded data, reporting, notification of parents, counseling, education and follow up.

Select, administer, and interpret audiologic diagnostic test results, acoustic emittance tests, speech audiometry tests (threshold and recognition), interprets auditory evoked potential and otoacoustic emissions.

Develop diagnostic impressions and make recommendations, including referrals to medical and/or rehabilitative follow-up, as well as making work relatedness determination is cases of noise induced hearing loss.

Select and fit earmolds and hearing devices.

Counsel patients and families on test results, rehabilitation, and hearing aid use.
