About the Role<\/span><\/b> The Auto Electrician will be\nresponsible for the installation, testing, diagnosis, and repair of electrical\nand electronic systems in caravans and recreational vehicles. Working as part\nof a skilled workshop team, the successful candidate will handle 12V power\nsystems, solar and battery installations, lighting, appliance wiring, and\naccessory fit\-outs. This is a hands\-on role focused entirely on caravans and\nRVs. Key Responsibilities<\/span><\/b> \u2022 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Install, wire, and test 12V DC electrical systems in\ncaravans and recreational vehicles \u2022 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Design and install solar panel systems, MPPT solar\ncontrollers, and lithium or AGM battery banks \u2022 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Install and commission DC\-DC chargers, battery\nmanagement systems, and dual battery setups \u2022 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Wire and connect LED lighting systems including\ninterior lighting, external lights, and awning lighting \u2022 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Install caravan appliances and accessories including\nair conditioners, hot water systems, and entertainment units \u2022 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Diagnose and repair electrical faults in caravans and\nRVs using diagnostic tools and testing equipment \u2022 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Install and configure caravan accessories such as\nreversing cameras, TPMS, GPS units, and satellite systems \u2022 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Carry out pre\-delivery electrical checks and quality\ninspections on completed caravan builds \u2022 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Interpret and work from wiring diagrams, schematics,\nand manufacturer specifications \u2022 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Ensure all electrical work is carried out in accordance\nwith relevant Australian Standards \u2022 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Maintain accurate job records including work completed,\nmaterials used, and time allocated \u2022 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Coordinate with coach builders and other workshop\ntrades to manage installation sequencing Skills<\/span><\/b> \u2022 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Proficiency in 12V DC automotive and recreational\nvehicle electrical systems \u2022 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Ability to design and install off\-grid solar power\nsystems including panels, controllers, and battery storage \u2022 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Competence reading and interpreting electrical wiring\ndiagrams and technical schematics \u2022 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Skilled in fault\-finding and diagnostic testing using\nmultimeters, circuit testers, and diagnostic equipment \u2022 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Working knowledge of relevant Australian Standards for\ncaravan and RV electrical installations \u2022 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Ability to install and configure DC\-DC chargers, BMS\nsystems, and inverter units \u2022 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Strong attention to detail and commitment to clean,\nsafe, and compliant wiring practices \u2022 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Ability to work independently and manage workload\neffectively within a busy workshop environment Experience<\/span><\/b> \u2022 <\/span><\/span><\/span>At least 1 year of demonstrated experience as a\nqualified Auto Electrician, preferably in a caravan, RV, or marine environment \u2022 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Experience installing and commissioning solar power\nsystems and lithium or AGM battery banks in recreational vehicles \u2022 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Experience with 12V caravan or recreational vehicle\nelectrical fit\-outs \u2022 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Experience diagnosing and repairing electrical faults\nin caravans, camper trailers, or motorhomes \u2022 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Experience working from technical wiring diagrams and\nbuild specifications \u2022 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Experience with caravan accessory installation\nincluding reversing cameras, TPMS, GPS, and entertainment systems is desirable Qualifications<\/span><\/b> \u2022 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Certificate III in Automotive Electrical Technology (or\nequivalent recognised qualification) \u2022 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Current driver's licence Important Eligibility\nRequirement<\/span><\/b> To be considered for this role,\napplicants must have full\-time, unrestricted working rights in Australia for\nthe duration of the employment period.
