Automation Engineer

Catalyx is seeking a skilled and detail\-oriented Automation\nEngineer to support equipment and automation compliance activities within a\nregulated (GMP) pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. This role is\nresponsible for change control documentation, system testing, troubleshooting,\nand ensuring compliance with internal procedures and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:<\/b>
<\/p>

· <\/span><\/span><\/span>Prepare and update equipment and automation\nchange control documentation in accordance with internal procedures.
<\/p>

· <\/span><\/span><\/span>Document all changes to automation and equipment\nsoftware and documentation accurately.
<\/p>

· <\/span><\/span><\/span>Develop and execute testing protocols for\nautomation and equipment changes.
<\/p>

· <\/span><\/span><\/span>Ensure compliance with system specifications by\nexecuting, documenting, and reporting on all testing activities.
<\/p>

· <\/span><\/span><\/span>Troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions\nand testing discrepancies.
<\/p>

· <\/span><\/span><\/span>Maintain documentation of automation and\noperational maintenance activities.
<\/p>

· <\/span><\/span><\/span>Read and write ladder logic for automation\nsystems; install and configure PLC and HMI applications from key vendors such\nas:
<\/p>

· <\/span><\/span><\/span>Allen\-Bradley / Rockwell (RSLogix, FactoryTalk\nME/SE, RSLinx)
<\/p>

· <\/span><\/span><\/span>Siemens (TIA Portal, WinCC OA)
<\/p>

· <\/span><\/span><\/span>Inductive Automation (Ignition)
<\/p>

· <\/span><\/span><\/span>Program using Python or similar scripting\nlanguages.
<\/p>

· <\/span><\/span><\/span>Configure OPC servers (e.g., Kepware) for system\ninterconnectivity.
<\/p>

· <\/span><\/span><\/span>Manage network configurations including TCP/IP\naddressing and port assignments.
<\/p>

· <\/span><\/span><\/span>Assist with Windows server setup and maintenance\nactivities.

Requirements<\/h3>

· <\/span><\/span><\/span>Bachelor\u2019s degree in Engineering, Computer\nScience, or a related technical field.
<\/p>

· <\/span><\/span><\/span>3+ years of experience in automation engineering\nwithin a regulated pharmaceutical or biotech environment.
<\/p>

· <\/span><\/span><\/span>Strong working knowledge of PLC, HMI, SCADA\nsystems, and related automation tools.
<\/p>

· <\/span><\/span><\/span>Familiarity with GMP, GAMP5, and SDLC\nprinciples.
<\/p>

· <\/span><\/span><\/span>Proficient in Python and industrial\ncommunication protocols (e.g., OPC).
<\/p>

· <\/span><\/span><\/span>Understanding of networking fundamentals and\nWindows server administration.
<\/p>

· <\/span><\/span><\/span>Excellent problem\-solving and documentation\nskills.
<\/p>

· <\/span><\/span><\/span>Ability to work collaboratively across\nmultidisciplinary teams.
