Baker II – Harrah’s Laughlin

Prepares all bakery items through a process of mixing, proofing, baking, scaling, and rotating stock.

What you’ll do

  • Assists in the production of all baked goods in required volume to requesting outlets and in accordance with established quality standards.
  • Receives stores, rotates and distributes bakery supplies and produce in and around production area.
  • Maintains cleanliness in and around Bakery production area, including care of work bench and equipment.
  • Accurately scales and measure ingredients.
  • Prepares baking pans for the baking process.
  • Loads and empties oven.
  • Fills racks for transportation and storage.
  • Prepares pastries, cookies, pies, strudels, brownies, cakes, and buffet desserts
  • Prepares proper amount of back up products; properly stores and labels; communicates location to lead.
  • Ability to lift and carry large, heavy objects weighing 20-50 pounds.
  • Ability to work rapidly and accurately
  • Minimum1-year experience in a bake shop as a Baker.
  • Able to follow directions, efficient, be reliable, quality oriented.
  • Baking experience to include, following standard recipes, by weighing, mixing, proofing, baking, and finishing baked products.
  • Mathematically inclined to be able to change sizes of recipes, cake decorating skills, French pastries, petit fours, mousses, breads, cookies, pies, and rotation of such products.
  • Prepares mixing ingredients and baking of pastry products.
  • Must be knowledgeable of our product, while taking orders for cakes, and pastries over the phone.
  • Meet the attendance guide lines of the job, and adhere to the regulatory department, and company rules.

PHYSICAL & MENTAL DEMANDS:

  • Lift up to 50 lbs. Push and pull up to 100 lbs.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, twist, reach, and hear.
  • Dexterity to utilize tools.
  • Stand for long periods of time or entire shift.
  • Work in hot and cold temperatures.
  • Maneuver in confined spaces.
  • Tolerate bright lights. Work flexible schedules.
  • Understand, read, write, and speak English.
