Banquet Bartender

We have a unique opportunity for a motivated individual to join our events team. Farmstead at Long Meadow Ranch boasts its abilities to accommodate private events from 2-300 guests, and hosts events ranging from corporate meetings to a full wedding ceremony and reception. This is a great opportunity for an experienced bartender to join our dynamic events team.

As an Banquet Bartender, you’ll be responsible for serving up drinks for all kinds of events, from weddings to corporate events to community events and concerts. We are looking for genuinely warm and friendly candidates who love making people happy with the desire to go the extra mile for our guests. This job is perfect for someone who values a flexible schedule, a positive and casual environment, and being able to work independently.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Take orders and serve food to bar guests
  • Take beverage orders from serving staff and directly from patrons
  • Serve wine and beer
  • Mix and prepare cocktails and other drinks
  • Balance receipts
  • Verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol
  • Monitor drinking in excess of customers
  • Stock bar with beer, wine, liquor, etc.
  • Slice and pit fruit for garnishing drinks
  • Clean glasses, utensils and bar equipment
  • Clean bar and work area
  • Assist with banquet service and cleanup
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned

Education, Experience and Required Skills

  • Two years of bartender experience in an upscale-casual, high volume restaurant, or catering
  • Knowledge of wines, varietals and winemaking process
  • Ability to learn and execute point of sale computer software procedures
  • Effectively communicate in a welcoming and professional manner
  • Ability to build/maintain a relationship with customers in a short period of time
  • Ability to function well as part of team
  • Must be well groomed
  • Ability to work weekends and holidays, flexibility in schedule is desired

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and deal with unexpected situations
  • Must be able to lift, balance, and carry plates of food
  • Must be able to lift cases of wine on a daily basis
  • Must be able to use both hands to handle, grasp, move and control objects, tools and equipment operations
  • Must be able to bend or twist body
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
  • Must be able to occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl

Compensation and Benefits

  • Part-time hourly position
  • Compensation: $33 per hour
  • Retirement Savings (401k) includes generous company matching
