Bartender

Summary:
The Restaurant Bartender is responsible for creating a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere at the bar, crafting high-quality
beverages, and providing exceptional service to guests. This role involves mixing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks,
maintaining the bar area's cleanliness, and adhering to all relevant laws and regulations.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
● Beverage Preparation and Service:
○ Accurately prepare and serve a wide variety of cocktails, mixed drinks, beers, wines, and non-alcoholic beverages
according to established recipes and standards.
○ Demonstrate knowledge of different drink categories, flavors, and preparation techniques.
○ Suggestively sell beverages and make recommendations to guests based on their preferences.
○ Monitor guest consumption of alcohol and intervene when necessary to prevent intoxication or underage
drinking.
○ Maintain a clean and organized bar area, including glassware, equipment, and supplies.
○ Adhere to all health and safety regulations when handling food and beverages.
● Guest Service:
○ Greet guests promptly and courteously, making them feel welcome and comfortable.
○ Engage in friendly and professional conversation with guests, creating a positive atmosphere.
○ Answer guest inquiries about the menu, drink specials, and other relevant information.
○ Handle guest complaints or issues in a calm and professional manner, escalating to management when
necessary.
● Operational Tasks:
○ Process guest orders and payments using the restaurant's POS system.
○ Maintain accurate inventory of bar supplies and notify management of any shortages.
○ Assist with opening and closing duties, including restocking supplies and cleaning the bar area.
○ Participate in staff meetings and training sessions as required.

Qualifications:
● Age: Must be 18 years of age or older due to legal requirements for serving alcohol.
● Experience: Previous bartending experience preferred, but not required. Willingness to learn and develop bartending
skills is essential.
● Knowledge: Basic knowledge of different types of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, cocktail recipes, and bar
equipment.
● Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure, strong
attention to detail, and basic math skills for handling payments.
● Certifications: Must obtain any required certifications or permits for serving alcohol, as per local regulations.
Physical Requirements:
● Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
● Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
● Manual dexterity for handling glassware and bar equipment.
● Must be able to work in a hot and humid environment.
