We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Behavioral Health Tech to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, demonstrate professional boundaries, and bring proven leadership experience in behavioral health settings. This role includes supervising direct care staff, ensuring high-quality client support, and assisting in maintaining a therapeutic and safe environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Model and enforce professional boundaries and ethical practices
  • Assist with scheduling, training, and performance evaluations
  • Monitor client safety, behavior, and participation in treatment programs
  • Respond effectively to crises and implement appropriate interventions
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with clients, staff, and other stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with facility policies, procedures, and regulatory standards
  • Report observations and incidents accurately and timely to clinical leadership


SUMMARY

The Recovery Advocate at UPRISING ADDICTION CENTER is responsible for performing advanced indirect and selected direct patient care duties in support of the clinical process in a competent manner under the direction of the program director or manager and for performing related clerical functions.

Population Served: Persons meeting DSM5 criteria for substance use disorders with or without co-occurring psychiatric illness

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  1. Knowledge of industry standards as related to the position of BHT.
  2. Basic knowledge of PC software programs, particularly Microsoft Word and Excel is preferred.
  3. Written and oral communication skills; must be able to concentrate on work amid distractions such as noise, conversations and foot traffic
  4. Must maintain self-control in volatile or hostile situations such as when verbally or physically confronted in an aggressive manner
  5. Must be able to work independently with little supervision in an unstructured environment with multiple demands
  6. Must possess a reading and writing level that provides for clear expression and/or understanding of assignments related to job description.
  7. Ability to represent the program well in interactions both inside and outside the facility

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand or sit for extended periods of time. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

The job requires frequent contact with water (hand washing and cleaning) and working with body fluid and hazardous chemicals. When under these working conditions, OSHA standards and universal precautions must be followed at all times.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal to high volumes of stress.
