Bid Manager
Overview
At ST Engineering iDirect, we are on search of a Bid Manager who is ready for the challenges, responsibilities, and rewards that come with reshaping the future of satellite communications and global connectivity.
As a Bid Manager, you play a central role in delivering high-quality, competitive proposals within a matrix organization. You work closely with Sales, technical teams, and cross-functional stakeholders across geographies and time zones to coordinate bid delivery. Additionally, you contribute to the continuous improvement of the bid management activities by enhancing productivity, consistency, and knowledge reuse.
You operate in a fast-paced and evolving environment, gaining exposure to strategic projects at the cutting edge of the satellite communications industry. You are a fast learner, comfortable with ambiguity, and actively contribute to continuous improvement and AI adoption within the team.
Responsibilities
Coordinate and manage the end-to-end bid process for medium to large opportunities in collaboration with cross-functional teams across different seniority levels and regions.
Work closely with global Sales teams and with Executive Leadership to deliver winning bids across all the stages of an opportunity (from early pursuit to RFx or contract negotiations).
Manage the activities of the bid lifecycle:
Qualify: Support RFP analysis, requirement understanding, and risk identification.
Strategize: Contribute to win themes and positioning.
Create: Develop structured, high-quality proposal content.
Sharpen: Enhance clarity, consistency, and differentiation of messaging.
Review: Ensure compliance and quality through checks and structured reviews.
Support pricing, cost modelling, and business case preparation.
Identify and track risks across the bid lifecycle and ensure proper escalation.
Ensure timely, compliant, and high-quality submission of proposals.
Contribute to the reuse of best practices, templates, and approved content.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including AI experimentation, knowledge sharing, and playbook development.
Qualifications
- At least 3 years of experience in bid management, pre-sales, project coordination, or similar environments (exposure to EU/ESA funding schemes is a plus).
- Strong organizational and coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple inputs and stakeholders.
- Comfortable working in an international, fast-paced, and evolving environment.
- Interest in AI tools and digital ways of working, with willingness to learn and experiment.
- Good understanding of commercial drivers and solution-based selling.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams.
- Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
