BIM Technician - Structures

To work as part of our Building Structures Team to provide CAD/BIM support to engineering projects. The successful candidate’s role will be as a Revit Lead within the WSP in India in our Noida/Bangalore office producing BIM models and detailed engineering designs and construction drawings and from time to time lead a team of Revit modellers. You can expect to be active on several projects at any given time. You will report to BIM Manager or Team Leader.

  • Managing small, medium and large-scale BIM Models for structures using Revit Structures by agreeing drawing strategy, type and size of drawings and drawing numbering with project engineer, and suggesting methods of drawing production to ensure efficient methods of working

  • Swiftly able to switch on to working on AutoCAD for Preparing design drawings for structures depending on priority of works.

  • Assisting BIM Manager in Estimation and Costing of CAD/BIM projects based on client's inputs.

  • Assisting BIM Manager in agreeing project schedule and delivery programme.

  • Setting up BIM models to the project standards and liaising with Model Managers from client side.

  • Liaison with project team members internal and client side.

  • Implement best practices on process Improvement works.

  • Adopt new technology and implementing in the team and process.

  • Up Skilling/Training the team members on new technologies.

  • Create work sets, work-sharing methodologies in Revit Models.

  • Resource planning for projects

  • Flag resource concerns in advance to CAD/BIM manager.

  • Project delivery responsibility on agreed schedules.

  • Coordinate BIM models for Building Structures (RC & Steel) across disciplines (Arch, MEP, Civil)

  • Manage model federation, clash detection (Navisworks), and issue tracking

  • Ensure BIM deliverables comply with project BEP, ISO 19650

  • Liaise with design engineers, drafting team, and external consultants

  • Maintain model quality (LOD, naming convention, coordinates integrity)

  • Support submission drawings extraction & validation

  • Prepare RC detailing drawings (GA, rebar detailing, BBS, layouts)

  • Coordinate with BIM Coordinator and engineers for discrepancy resolution

  • Coordinate with engineers and site team for RFIs and revisions

  • Ensure compliance with client submission requirements

  • Handle high-volume drawing production under tight schedule

  • Perform quantity take-off and basic material scheduling

  • Prepare detailed shop drawings for structural steel (GA, connection details) (Optional)

  • Develop fabrication and erection drawings in Tekla / Revit / AutoCAD (Optional)

Key Competencies / Skills

  • The applicant should possess a diploma/degree in Civil Engineering

  • Hands on experience on Revit Structures software, Revit families and AutoCAD.

  • Experience of working on a number of sized projects, as the sole CAD/BIM support and as part of a wider CAD/BIM team

  • Improvement and quality

  • Able to demonstrate competence in:

  • Organization skills

  • 3+ years’ experience in RC / steel detailing

  • Good coordination & communication skills (HK + cross-border teams)

  • Familiar with AutoCAD, Revit (Structure), Navisworks and rebar detailing standards

  • Experience in Building Structure and R C details for submission

  • Experience in Steel Connection details (Optional)

  • Tekla Structures, CDE (Optional)

Mandatory Skills

  • Diploma in Civil or Structural Engineering

  • Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering

  • Qualification in Revit

  • Experience of 4+ years.
