BSA Compliance Associate

You will conduct end-to-end investigations of transaction monitoring alerts, analyze and document findings, and disposition cases. You will identify suspicious activity and escalate according to policies and regulations. You will draft Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) with clear narratives and recommendations, support OFAC-related investigations and sanctions screening, and assist with responses to regulatory exams, audits, and internal reviews. You will support state licensing and Money Transmitter License reporting, respond to due diligence requests from partners and banks, investigate customer complaints and law enforcement inquiries, and maintain accurate records within case management systems. You will assist the BSA Officer with risk assessments, prepare compliance metrics and management reporting, contribute to the development and maintenance of policies, procedures, and internal controls, partner with cross-functional teams to resolve compliance issues, assist with remediation of audit findings, and participate in ad hoc compliance projects.

Responsibilities

  • Support OFAC-related investigations and sanctions compliance
  • Assist with responses to regulatory exams, audits, and internal reviews
  • Support state licensing and Money Transmitter License reporting obligations
  • Respond to due diligence requests from partners and banks
  • Investigate and respond to customer complaints and law enforcement inquiries
  • Maintain accurate records within case management and compliance systems
  • Assist with risk assessments including data collection and analysis
  • Support ongoing compliance reporting, metrics, and dashboards
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance policies, procedures, and internal controls
  • Partner with Legal, Product, Operations, and Customer Support to resolve compliance issues
  • Assist with issue management and remediation of audit findings
  • Participate in ad hoc compliance projects and initiatives

Requirements

  • Integrity
  • 2–4 years of experience in BSA/AML compliance, financial crimes investigations, or a related field
  • Working knowledge of BSA/AML regulations including SAR requirements and OFAC obligations
  • Experience conducting investigations or supporting compliance operations in a regulated environment
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent written communication skills including drafting investigative summaries and SAR narratives
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to adapt quickly and manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders
  • Experience in fintech, digital assets, or banking environments (preferred)
  • Familiarity with transaction monitoring systems, sanctions screening tools, and case management platforms (preferred)
  • Exposure to regulatory exams, audits, or licensing processes (preferred)
  • CAMS or other relevant financial crimes certifications or in progress (preferred)
