Budget Analyst
General Description:
Responsible for developing, analyzing and overseeing the program/contract budget for all programs and vended meal contracts. This role involves ensuring alignment with organizational goals while maintaining compliance with federal and grant regulations. The Budget Analyst will work closely various departments to develop, monitor and adjust budgets.
Essential Functions:
- Collaborate with Controller, Government Contracts and Programs team to develop budgets for grant proposals and funding requests.
- Evaluates information and reconciles conflicting or ambiguous data along with the Government Contracts Analyst.
- Monitor budget performance and provide reports on budget variances.
- Track and report budget to actual data of all programs and vended meal contracts on a monthly basis.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, issues, and budget amendment recommendations for CFO and CPO.
- Participate in discussion of budget to actual reports with CEO, CFO, CPO along with other Administrative and Government Contracts team members.
- Maintain accurate records of all budget-related activities and amendments.
- Ensure compliance with federal and grant regulations or contract requirements.
Other Activities:
- Work in conjunction with the Government Contracts Analyst to ensure that all financial matters of the food bank as they relate to Federal, State and Local government contracts are maintained within applicable laws, contractual obligations, and accounting principles of non-profit accounting.
- Assist and review the work plan for contracts/grants; meet with the staff to identify and resolve problems; monitor workflow; review and evaluate work products, methods, and procedures.
- Establish and maintain a working environment conducive to teamwork.
- Prepares grant application budget information for all government, state, and municipality grants.
- Support the annual audit process by providing necessary documentation and explanations
- Performs related duties as required.
