Budget Analyst/Senior Budget Analyst - FAD

The Resource and Information Management Division of the Fiscal Affairs Department (FAD) is seeking to fill contractual vacancies for the positions of Budget Analyst/Senior Budget Analyst. The successful candidates will play a key role in supporting the FADRM budget team in planning, executing, and monitoring FAD’s budget and financial operations. The ideal candidates are strong team players who are highly motivated and bring ownership, energy, a collaborative style, and innovation to their work.
Under the general supervision of the Division Chief and working within a team environment that comprises budget officers, the successful candidates will contribute to the formulation of FAD’s budget as well as to monitoring its implementation, and regular reporting to FAD management. The successful candidates are expected to contribute to FAD’s resource planning and budgeting processes for capacity development (CD) and non-CD operations across the full range of funding sources (IMF01 and IMF02).
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supporting the management of FAD’s travel and expert salary budget through ongoing monitoring and forecasting and ensuring expenditures comply with departmental guidelines.
- Processing and approving requisitions, purchase orders, and invoices.
- Coordinating the monthly TRACES exercise (TRACES is the time reporting system used by staff to record work time), ensuring accuracy and compliance with donor chargeback requirements; and providing staff training on TRACES and guidance on donor charging policies.
- Managing year-end accruals for travel, and other expenses, in collaboration with the FINANCE (FIN) Department and FAD divisions.
- Assisting with budget management for FAD seminars/workshops and overseeing FAD’s interpretation/translation budget.
- Supporting the preparation of FAD’s medium-term budget and budget analytics to inform departmental planning and monthly management reporting.
- Monitoring petty cash usage via the Incidental Expense Reimbursement system and P-card expenditures, ensuring compliance with Fund guidelines and P-card policy.
- Collaborating with OBP, FIN, HRD, ICD, ITD, and other departments to resolve journal adjustments, budget errors, and ensuring accurate reporting across financial systems (iBBIS, CDMAP, TRACES, PeopleSoft).
- Liaising with interdepartmental working groups, contributing to discussions on budgeting, resource management, and financial reporting as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
Educational development typically acquired by a University Degree, or equivalent, in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
Additionally, the successful candidates are expected to have:
- Well-developed quantitative ability, including advanced proficiency in Excel including ability to organize, analyze and present large quantities of data in Power Bi Dashboards, utilizing Power Automate where applicable.
- Strong attention to accuracy and ability to reconcile data across multiple data sources.
- Demonstrated data analytic skills, sound judgment, and the ability to set priorities and manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines; and
- Strong oral and written communication skills

This is a one-year contractual appointment. Contractual appointments at the IMF are renewable for up to four years of cumulative contractual service, pending incumbent's performance, budget availability, and continuous business need.
