Building & Grounds Custodian - 2nd Shift

Job Summary

This position is responsible for performing custodial, groundskeeping, and facility maintenance duties to ensure a safe and clean environment for staff.
Responsible for inspecting facilities, conducting minor maintenance on buildings, fixtures, and furnishings, and removing snow. This role also involves troubleshooting maintenance problems, coordinating repairs and renovations with the office manager, and managing services provided by outside vendors.

Job Description

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform general maintenance work including plumbing, electrical, lighting, painting, mechanical, pressure washing, and related tasks.

Conduct general housekeeping such as emptying trash, cleaning, vacuuming, dusting, sweeping, and sanitizing buildings daily, including floors, restrooms, grounds, and common areas.

Process trash removal and manage corrugated scraps with a compactor and compact surplus corrugated boxes in baler.

Check and secure buildings at the beginning and end of shifts to ensure safety and cleanliness.

Clear snow from entrances and walkways and spread sand and ice-melting chemicals.

Maintain equipment in functional condition.

Perform minor maintenance on buildings.


MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent

Certification / Licensure

Work Experience

Previous custodial or maintenance experience preferred.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

• Physical activities necessary to perform one or more essential functions of the position.

• Ability to bend, twist, reach, push, lift for extended periods daily

• Frequently move, lift, carry supplies/equipment up to 50 lbs and may have to occasionally lift up to 75 lbs

• Must be able to stand for minimum of 8 hours and up to 12 hours for up to 6 days a week

• Ability to continuously ascend and descend from ladders and stairs, work at heights and/or from a ladder, work from a lying down position, work with your hands above your head.

• Ability to work overtime and must be available for on-call requests as needed

The anticipated salary range for this position:

$15.00 - $21.75 Hourly

The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s location, education, experience, skills, and abilities. Medline will not pay less than the applicable minimum wage or salary threshold.
