Business Analyst- Dallas, TX
The Business Analyst will serve as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, translating complex investment requirements into functional specifications. This role requires a blend of core business analysis, systems analysis capabilities, and specialized knowledge of investment instruments and accounting platforms.
Key Responsibilities- Requirements Engineering: Elicit, analyze, and document business requirements for investment management systems.
- Systems Analysis: Conduct gap analysis between current and future state systems, ensuring technical designs align with business goals.
- Process Mapping: Create detailed "As-Is" and "To-Be" workflow diagrams to optimize investment operations.
- Technical Liaison: Collaborate with developers and QA teams to ensure functional specifications are understood and accurately implemented.
- Product Expertise: Leverage deep knowledge of investment accounting platforms to support data migration, reporting, and reconciliation.
- Testing & Validation: Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) by defining test cases and validating results against business requirements.
- Business Analysis: Proven experience in requirements gathering, stakeholder management, and functional documentation.
- Systems Analysis: Proficiency in SQL for data analysis, understanding of system integrations (APIs/ETL), and the ability to interpret technical architecture.
- Investment Knowledge: Strong understanding of various investment instruments, including Equities, Fixed Income, Derivatives, and FX.
- Geneva Expertise: Hands-on experience with Advent Geneva for investment accounting, including RSL/RDL reporting and portfolio set-up.
- Analytical Thinking: Ability to decompose complex business problems into manageable technical tasks.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to bridge the gap between finance and technology teams.
- Experience working within Asset Management, Hedge Funds, or Fund Administration.
- Knowledge of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) in both Agile and Waterfall environments.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools or reporting suites related to investment accounting.
Compensation, Benefits and Duration
Minimum Compensation: USD 37,000
Maximum Compensation: USD 132,000
Compensation is based on actual experience and qualifications of the candidate. The above is a reasonable and a good faith estimate for the role.
