Business Development Manager, Events Program
Our Mission
As humans, there are few things more exciting than meeting someone new. At Tinder, we’re inspired by the challenge of keeping the magic of human connection alive. With tens of millions of users, hundreds of millions of downloads, 2+ billion swipes per day, 20+ million matches per day, and a presence in 190+ countries, our reach is expansive—and rapidly growing.
We work together to solve complex problems. Behind the simplicity of every match, we think deeply about human relationships, behavioral science, network economics, AI and ML, online and real-world safety, cultural nuances, loneliness, love, sex, and more.
Our Values
- Take the Lead: We don't ghost our work or each other. Just as users don't leave their matches hanging, we don't let each other down.
- Move Fast: We have a bias for action and urgency. Something that could be done tomorrow would be better if done today.
- Better Together: We keep connection at the heart of dating and at the heart of how we work. Just as our users are better when they connect with others, so are we when we collaborate.
- Real Talk: We say the hard thing the human way. Just as we ask our users to behave with kindness and candor in our community, we expect Team Tinder to do the same.
- Safety First: We act with integrity, transparency, and consistency so people feel safe—whether they're swiping, matching, or working alongside us.
- Spark Fun: We have fun to unlock creativity, fuel innovation, and help us build better experiences for daters.
The Role
Tinder is investing in bringing people together beyond the screen. Our Events program curates in-person experiences that give members new ways to connect — and we're scaling it fast.
The BD Manager, Events Program is an IC role at the heart of that growth. You'll own a multi-market book of business, building and deepening partnerships with local event hosts whose recurring, on-trend events belong on Tinder. You'll use scaled sales strategies and AI tooling to move quickly across markets, secure co-promotion deals, and develop the playbooks that let the program grow without losing quality.
This role requires in-office collaboration three times per week in Los Angeles, CA, with approximately 20% travel for market visits, partner meetings, and event activations.
In this role, you will:
-
Manage a book of business across several markets, owning end-to-end relationships with event hosts whose recurring, relevant events are listed on Tinder
-
Prospect and close net new partnerships with local venues, event creators, and organizers using scaled, repeatable sales approaches
-
Secure co-promotion agreements with event hosts to drive mutual visibility and value for Tinder users
-
Build and iterate on market-specific playbooks that systematize how we source, pitch, and onboard event partners — so the model scales city by city
-
Leverage AI tools to accelerate outreach, event discovery, lead scoring, and relationship management across your book of business
-
Develop deep knowledge of local event scenes to ensure Tinder's supply stays fresh, trendy, and brand-aligned
-
Collaborate with the Sr. Manager and cross-functional teams on pipeline strategy, market expansion, and partner performance
-
Track and report on KPIs including pipeline volume, conversion rates, market coverage, and partner retention
You'll need:
- 3–5+ years of experience in sales, business development, or partnerships — ideally in events, media, entertainment, hospitality, or consumer tech
- Proven track record of hitting and exceeding revenue, pipeline, or growth targets
- Experience managing multi-market or multi-vertical portfolios of partners or accounts
- A systems thinker who naturally builds repeatable processes rather than one-off deals
- Genuine comfort with AI and automation tools as a core part of your sales workflow
- Strong negotiation skills and ability to close deals with founders, promoters, and venue owners
- Entrepreneurial mindset — energized by ambiguity and biased toward action
