Business Development Manager

The Business Development Sales Professional is responsible for new account development in existing or new markets. Typically, does not have a base business where they are responsible for the retention or expansion of business at existing customers.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute business development strategies to drive sustainable sales growth across the Southeast Asia region.
  • Identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities while expanding existing customer accounts.
  • Build, maintain, and strengthen long-term relationships with key customers and strategic stakeholders.
  • Manage the full sales cycle, including prospecting, customer engagement, solution presentation, commercial negotiation, and contract closure.
  • Develop and implement account plans to maximize customer satisfaction, retention, and business growth.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Product Management, Operations, and Customer Service, to deliver customer-focused solutions.
  • Monitor market trends, industry developments, and competitor activities to identify new business opportunities and maintain market competitiveness.
  • Prepare sales forecasts, business plans, pipeline reports, and performance updates.
  • Represent the company at customer meetings, business reviews, exhibitions, and industry events across Southeast Asia.
  • Contribute to regional business expansion initiatives and support the achievement of long-term strategic objectives.
  • Demonstrate leadership potential by mentoring, influencing, and collaborating with internal teams while preparing for future regional leadership opportunities.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Business Development, Sales, or Account Management within a B2B industrial or technical environment.
  • Proven experience developing business and managing customer relationships across the Southeast Asia market.
  • Experience serving customers in one or more of the following industries:
    • Data Center
    • Semiconductor Equipment
    • Medical Devices
    • Clean Energy
  • Experience managing strategic customer accounts within industries such as Data Center Infrastructure, Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS), Semiconductor Equipment, Medical Devices, Industrial Automation, or Technology Manufacturing is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of the Southeast Asia industrial market, including regional business practices and customer landscape.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop new business opportunities, manage strategic accounts, and consistently achieve sales targets.
  • Excellent business development, negotiation, presentation, and relationship management skills.
  • Strong commercial acumen with strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, accountable, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Resilient under pressure with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Demonstrated leadership potential with the capability to grow into a regional sales leadership role.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English are required.
  • Proficiency in Mandarin/Chinese is an added advantage.
  • Candidates based in Malaysia or Singapore, or those with extensive experience managing customers across Southeast Asia, are highly preferred.

This position is to support growth and development of Semiconductor, Medical, Data Center, Clean Energy in Southeast Asia, and better to have management experience.
