Business Development Manager

Key Responsibilities

  • Business Acquisition: Identify, engage, and secure new business opportunities across assigned regions and target verticals.
  • Commercial Strategy: Prepare competitive quotations, proposals, tenders (RFQs), and service agreements. Lead high-level commercial negotiations.
  • Client Management: Understand customer supply chain needs and cross-sell services like distribution, freight forwarding, and first/last-mile land transport.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Collaborate with operations, pricing, and finance teams to ensure seamless onboarding and successful service delivery.
  • Market Intelligence: Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and changes in transport regulations to optimize sales strategy.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or Marketing.
  • Experience: Typically, 3 to 5+ years of relevant B2B sales or business development experience within the freight forwarding or logistics sector.
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of transportation operations, Incoterms, customs procedures, and regional trade flows.
  • Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills combined with a commercially focused, results-driven mindset.

KPIs & Success Metrics

  • Revenue Growth: Achieving or exceeding monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
  • Profitability: Maintaining healthy margins on freight and transport solutions.
  • Pipeline Management: Cultivating an active network and maintaining accurate CRM records.
