Outbound BDR Overview
We’re looking for a Business Development Representative (BDR) to join our sales team and play a critical role in driving new business at Recharge.
This is a highly outbound role focused on generating pipeline through strategic prospecting into ecommerce brands. You'll partner closely with Account Executives to identify opportunities, develop account strategies, and create meaningful conversations with prospective merchants.

We have clear paths into Account Executive, Growth Account Management, and other go-to-market roles, and we invest heavily in developing high-performing talent.
Please note: While Recharge is a remote-first company, our Sales team operates from two hubs (Toronto, Canada and Lehi, Utah). We are looking for candidates to work full-time from our Toronto office.
What you'll do
Generate qualified pipeline through multi-channel outbound prospecting including cold calling, email, video, LinkedIn, and emerging AI-powered engagement channels.
Build personalized outreach at scale by leveraging AI tools, prospecting signals, account research, and merchant insights.
Partner closely with Account Executives to develop account plans, prioritize target merchants, and execute strategic outbound campaigns.
Research merchants to understand their ecommerce strategy, business initiatives, technology stack, and growth opportunities.
Identify buying signals and tailor messaging that connects Recharge's platform to each merchant's goals.
Qualify prospective merchants and transition opportunities to Account Executives using our sales methodology.
Maintain accurate pipeline and activity within Salesforce, Outreach, and other sales engagement platforms.
Collaborate with Marketing, Partnerships, and Sales to continuously improve messaging, campaigns, and outbound playbooks.
Act as a trusted first impression of Recharge and deliver an exceptional buyer experience from the very first interaction.
Continuously experiment with new prospecting strategies, AI workflows, messaging, and sales tools to improve efficiency and performance.
What you'll bring
Previous sales, customer-facing, or business development experience is a plus, but not required.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Confidence, resilience, and a willingness to pick up the phone, you're energized by outbound prospecting and embrace rejection as part of the process.
Curiosity and comfort using AI tools (such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or similar) to improve research, productivity, and personalization.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
A growth mindset with a desire to learn, experiment, and continuously improve.
High energy, self-motivation, and a track record of meeting or exceeding goals.
Experience with Salesforce, Outreach, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, or similar sales tools is a plus.
Compensation
Recharge’s compensation offerings are grounded in a pay-for-performance philosophy that recognizes exceptional individual and team performance. Salary ranges are designed to be competitive and aligned with country specific practices, while individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, and experience. The compensation listed is not inclusive of any equity and benefits that might exist in your total compensation package.
OTE: $81,800 CAD
