Business Systems Analyst Technology IT

  1. Understand the business processes and key strategies of the business unit to proactively identify desired business outcomes, existing obstacles, and technology or process options to overcome them — acting as a strategic partner, not just an order taker.
  2. Become an advocate for both Enterprise IT services and business unit’s needs, applying BRM competency to align IT’s service portfolio with stakeholder goals and elevate conversations beyond transactional requests to enterprise-value outcomes.
  3. Elicit and clearly document business and system requirements.
  4. Communicate, translate, and simplify business requirements to ensure buy-in from all stakeholders.
  5. Conduct business process modeling and generate applicable scenarios for functional testing; identify opportunities where AI and automation can remove friction, scale work, or accelerate business outcomes.
  6. Provide business solutions and support the implementation of solutions through collaboration with Enterprise IT and business unit stakeholders.
  7. Demonstrate leadership by managing projects for implemented solutions.
  8. Own the responsibility for quality and timely delivery of solutions to the business unit.
  9. Manage and administer any key applications that support the business unit.
  10. Troubleshoot and resolve escalated issues, including 3rd party vendor support.
  1. Bachelor’s degree in business analysis, IT or related field, or knowledge acquired through equivalent experience.
  2. Three to five (3-5) years in a business analyst, solution development and/or application administration role.
  3. Exceptional self-leadership, time management, facilitation, and organizational skills.
  4. Strong documentation, process mapping and communication skills, being able to communicate complex technical matters in an easy-to-understand way.
  5. Excellent verbal communication skills.
  6. Ability to manage numerous business relationships in a professional manner, applying BRM mindsets to engage stakeholders across run, grow, and innovate demand types; including managing multiple concurrent initiatives aligned to cross-boundary value streams, not siloed functions.
  7. Ability to develop, articulate, and present detailed business cases for any level audience.
  8. Keen attention to detail, strong time management, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
  9. Ability to facilitate and/or challenge decisions within or across teams leading to a collaborative outcome/plan.
  10. Demonstrated business acumen and BRM capability: ability to lead outcome-focused conversations with stakeholders, constructively challenge assumptions, and connect technology options to strategic business goals.
  11. Working knowledge of AI and automation capabilities (including GenAI), with an ability to identify practical AI use cases within business processes and translate AI possibilities into business value conversations.
