UCT is looking for a talented Buyer II to join us in Cebu!
The Buyer II is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and expediting materials and commodities from approved suppliers, both locally and internationally. This role ensures timely delivery and quality compliance, negotiates pricing and commercial terms, and executes cost reduction initiatives. The Buyer II also manages supplier performance through scorecard programs and supports key objectives in inventory control, cost optimization, and material availability to drive operational efficiency and supply chain excellence.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Plans, schedules and monitors the movement of materials through the production cycle to determine required materials purchases.

Obtains materials using engineering and production schedules to maintain inventory at planned levels (i.e., Just in Time purchases, use of EOQ - Economic Order Quantities). Resolves discrepancies.

Creates and maintains bills of material and parts/commodities numbers in supply chain management or other enterprisewide systems.

Ensures material standards are met and non-conformances or variances are approved and/or minimized.

Develops specifications for new contract orders. Gathers quotations, examines bids and makes awards.

Monitors cost, schedule and scope of assigned subcontracts to assure best quality at best value.

Evaluates vendor reliability and develops new supply sources where vendors and suppliers are no longer competitive.

Responsible for buying, sourcing and expending materials, commodities from approved vendor lists both locally and overseas

Ensure on-time delivery of materials from suppliers and meeting quality requirements

Maintain and execute suppliers scorecard programs

Work towards achieving given objectives such as inventory management, cost reduction, materials availability and quality management

Responsible for year over year cost reductions of materials

Participate in evaluating supplier reliability when required

Ability to read engineering drawings desired

Working knowledge of SAP or other ERP software desire
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Must be able to read technical details on a weldment print.
- Experience with weldment manufacturing is preferred. · Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to use ERP estimating systems such as Visual, Vista, Oracle, etc. MS Excel, Word and Acces
Educational/Certification Requirement:
- Degree in Business Administration or equivalent work experience.
Experience Requirement:
Work Experience:
2-5 years in quoting or weldment manufacturing
