Buying Assistant, Multibrand


Location: HQ - Williamsburg, Brooklyn
Status: Full-time / 100% on-site
Compensation: $26.50 - $31.25 hourly

Position Summary: Buying Assistant will assist with the administrative and operational activity required to maintain a constant and adequate flow of merchandise to the stores and online. They will support the daily operations within the designated buying areas and develop partnerships with the Assistant and Associate Buyers on all necessary tasks. They will own the product lifecycle – overseeing the purchase order (PO) process, inputting UPCs, and entering global pricing. In this role, they will support the following Multibrand departments: Men’s RTW + ACC, Women’s RTW + ACC, and Lifestyle. They will assist with growing the overall omni channels to help achieve seasonal sales and inventory goals. A primary focus will be growing our online and social presence. They should have strong analytical skills with knowledge of retail math and Excel, along with a demonstrated understanding of the retail market. The overall primary focus is to maximize our Men’s + Women’s Multibrand businesses.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Primary Responsibilities

Purchase Order Management & Product Setup

  • Manage all stages of purchase order setup, entry, and style creation.

  • Input UPCs and maintain accurate pricing across all global regions.

  • Validate product, pricing, and purchase order data across systems to ensure accuracy.

Inventory & Merchandise Flow

  • Track merchandise receipts, transfers, and inventory movement to support seasonal sell-through goals.

Cross-Functional Communication & Issue Resolution

  • Serve as a key point of communication between Stores, Store Operations, Logistics, and Accounts Payable to ensure timely product delivery and resolution of issues.

Ecommerce & Product Presentation Support

  • Coordinate weekly product shoots by partnering with Photography and Ecommerce teams to ensure accurate styling and online presentation.

Process Support & Operational Efficiency

  • Support operational efficiencies by identifying opportunities to improve and streamline buying processes.

REQUIREMENTS

Experience

  • At least 1 year of experience in buying, merchandising, planning, or a related retail function.

Skills

  • Strong understanding of retail math, inventory management, and business analysis.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Workspace.

  • Experience working with ERP systems preferred; Tableau experience is a plus.

  • Excellent organizational, communication, and project management skills.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial retail environment.

  • Knowledge of the luxury fashion market and current industry trends.

  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
