Cabinet Assembler
A cabinet assembler has met all expectations of an apprentice, has the capacity, drive and passion to advance. A cabinet maker will be responsible for fabricating all cabinet boxes and other production-related components. They will add to all level 1 tasks and begin to understand the total process.
Expectations|
- Ability to interpret shop drawings for construction.
- Verify dimensions and how they relate to the total component.
- Be able to make a cultist and produce new or replacement parts related to the total component.
- Understanding of how all individual components make up a total project
- Be able to verify all components and built and accounted for.
- Organize the total project to ensure all pieces are delivered to the jobsite for final install.
- Be able to mill both rough lumber, sheet goods, and laminate.
- Have an extended knowledge of math, fractions, decimals, imperial and metric.
- The ability to teach others and be open to learning different processes and techniques.
- Understanding clamping
- Understand the basics of laminating and veneer.
- Expanded knowledge of the “right tool for the right job”
- Ability to identify errors and mathematical mistakes and quickly remedy them.
- Understand when to add fillers and scribe.
- Understand the basics of tooling, when a tool should be changed, and how to change it.
- Ability to produce a square, flat defect defect-free cabinet or component every time.
- Understand how to sand.
