CAD Designer -Electrical (Oil & Gas)
WSP india is currently seeking a CAD Designer -Electrical for AU Mining infrastructure..
The successful applicant will be responsible for creating and editing electrical technical drawings in compliance with WSP CAD and Client Standards.
Experience and familiarity with a range of CAD software packages including AutoCAD, Autodesk Plant 3D and Bentley Openplant. Experience across multiple packages is desirable but not essential.
The candiate must be a team player and willing to work collaboratively with a successful mining team based in Australia.
The position is for MUMBAI/BANGALORE location.
Design responsibilities include:
Working as part of a team of electrical engineers and designs to produce electrical drawing for detailed design projects including:
Power Distribution single line diagrams
Protection and metering single line diagrams
Earthing single line diagrams
Electrical layouts including substations/switchrooms, earthing, power reticulation, equipment and services.
Electrical/control enclosures and switchboard general arrangement drawings.
Detailed electrical schematics/wiring diagrams
Termination diagrams
Cable block diagrams
Cable schedules
Interlock, earthing and protection diagrams
Experience implementing quality procedures, processes and self-checks.
Close attention to detail to support the production of high-quality deliverables.
Reporting progress of work assignments and meeting project schedule and budget requirements.
Proactive communication with internal peers and project team members.
Actively participate in design development process, receiving direction and providing input and feedback to the Australian teams throughout the design process.
Coordinating with the Australian lead offices.
Effective planning, time management and multi-tasking skills to manage and deliver multiple concurrent projects.
Familiarity with Health & Safety requirements and practices.
Growth mindset focused on continual improvement, learning and development.
Complete accurate timesheets on a weekly basis.
Mandatory skills and capabilities include:
Strong English communication skills, both written and oral
Past experience working as an electrical designer on detailed design projects in the mining, mineral processing or other related heavy industry sectors.
Ability to develop design drawings from high level input and design templates.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Familiarity with electrical equipment and terminology
Computer literate with a reasonable proficiency using the MS office suite.
Coordinating work with the Australian team.
Work competently with minimal supervision.
Desirable skills and capabilities:
Experience working with a remote/offshore international electrical team.
Familiarity with Australian electrical standards and work practices.
Diploma or Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical.
6-10 years experience in electrical design & drawing deleiverables.
Familiar with working in a LEAN environment.
Experience with projects in Australia, New Zealand would be an advantage.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, in English.
C. Eng, P. Eng qualification would be an added advantage.
