CAD Technician - Civils

The Civil & Structural CAD Technician will be responsible for preparation of accurate and high-quality 2D drawings and 3D models for civil and structural engineering projects across FEED and detailed design stages. The role involves supporting multidisciplinary engineering teams in delivering compliant, coordinated, and constructible design outputs in line with project standards and client requirements.

  • Prepare 2D drawings and 3D models (civil layouts, structural GA drawings, reinforcement details, foundations, steel structures)
  • Develop General Arrangement (GA), plan, sections, and detailed construction drawings
  • Produce drawings from concept design through detailed engineering
  • Ensure drawings comply with client standards, codes, and project specifications
  • Work closely with engineers to interpret design inputs and mark-ups
  • Assist in model-based coordination and clash detection
  • Support interdisciplinary coordination with mechanical, electrical, and process teams
  • Participate in design reviews and implement comments
  • Develop models using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, CADS RC, Navisworks
  • Prepare reinforcement detailing and structural modelling outputs
  • Assist in BIM model development, updates, and revisions
  • Ensure drawings meet QA/QC requirements and CAD standards
  • Maintain version control and drawing registers
  • Perform self-checks before submission
  • Prepare drawing deliverables for submission (PDF/DWG formats)
  • Knowledge of substation / power / pipeline projects
  • Experience in Energy / infrastructure / industrial projects, Civil & structural design support & International project exposure (UK preferred)
  • Maintain organized documentation within project systems
  • Support engineers in BOQs, quantity take-offs (where applicable)
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D drafting), Revit (3D modelling – Structural/Architectural), Civil 3D (preferred), Navisworks (coordination/clash detection)
  • Knowledge of Structural detailing (RC, steel) & Civil layouts (foundations, drainage, site plans)
  • Familiarity with FEED and detailed design stages
  • Strong attention to detail and drawing accuracy
  • Ability to work under deadline-driven project environments
  • Good communication and coordination skills
  • Team-oriented with proactive attitude
