CAM Programmer

Job Description

- Create and optimize CNC machining programs using CAM software such as Mastercam, UG NX,

SolidCAM, or Powermill.

- Interpret engineering drawings, 3D models, and technical specifications accurately.

- Prepare CNC programs for milling, turning, drilling, and multi-axis machining operations.

- Select suitable cutting tools, fixtures, machining methods, and machining parameters.

- Perform machining simulation to ensure program accuracy and avoid collisions.

- Work closely with production, machinists, and process engineers to improve machining efficiency and

reduce cycle time.

- Troubleshoot machining and programming issues on the shop floor.

- Support new product development and first article setup.

- Maintain and update machining documentation, setup sheets, and process records.

- Optimize tooling and machining strategies to improve productivity and quality.

- Ensure machining processes meet customer specifications and quality standards.

- Participate in continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives.

Job Requirements

- Diploma or Degree in Precision Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or

related field.

- Experience in CNC programming and precision machining environment.

- Proficient in CAM software such as Mastercam, UG NX, SolidCAM, Powermill, or similar software.

- Strong understanding of CNC machining processes, tooling, and G-code programming.

- Able to read and interpret technical drawings and GD&T.

- Experience with CNC milling, turning, and multi-axis machining is an advantage.

- Familiar with machining materials such as engineering plastics.

- Knowledge of cutting tools, feeds, and machining parameters.

- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

- Good communication and teamwork abilities.

- Able to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

- Positive attitude and willingness to continuously improve machining knowledge and skills.
