Job Title: Car Valeter/Detailer
Reports to: Service Commercial Manager

Type of position: Fixed Term Appointment (6 Months)

Hours: 37.5 / week

ROLE OF THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT



  • To ensure client vehicles and workshop vehicles are parked properly
  • To valet clients’ vehicles to a high standard
  • To delight our customers

JOB DESCRIPTION


Tasks

  • Moving customer vehicles to appropriate parking bays for maintenance or repair.
  • Returning vehicle keys to the correct place in the key cabinet.
  • Keeping a daily list of vehicles that require cleaning.
  • Cleaning vehicles inside and out using appropriate products, tools, and equipment (e.g. brushes, vacuums, scrapers, cleaning solutions).
  • Detailing vehicles to customer standards, including polishing, waxing, ceramic coating, and applying conditioners.
  • Using buffing machines and cloths to polish and finish vehicles.
  • Washing and vacuuming cars thoroughly.
  • Ensuring courtesy vehicles and workshop cars are correctly parked and ready for use.
  • Assisting with general workshop tasks and errands when required.
  • Help moving customer vehicles into the workshop overnight, if needed and/or not collected.
  • Helping maintain a clean and safe working environment across the workshop.
  • Monitoring and managing stock of cleaning materials and supplies.
  • Assisting with the collection or recovery of vehicles when necessary.
  • Carrying out any other reasonable duties requested by the Service Manager.


WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS


  • Experience in the automotive trade would be an advantage
  • Previous experience of car valeting in a business environment

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • A minimum of 2 GCSEs or equivalent one of which must be English Language


SKILLS/ABILITIES/ COMPETENCIES REQUIRED
